Bitcoin Forum / Re: What do you think should happen to ordinals?
« on: January 03, 2024, 04:00:33 PM »
I came across this article somewhere and this represents a serious (announced) problem if we speak about ordinals or any NFT on the Bitcoin blockchain.

Child abuse imagery found within bitcoin's blockchain

Just as mixers were banned on the BTT forum, should we expect harsher sanctions from the authorities against Bitcoin, because things like this are certainly not legal anywhere?
This is certainly a problem. This should not be allowed.
Maybe sanctions against the people who put that data there are more feasible.  Or against the miners who added this kind of data to a block.

Bitcoin Forum / Re: Bitcoin hardware wallet
« on: January 03, 2024, 02:13:52 PM »
Trezor is one of the oldest wallets around. It  is certainly safe, there is no need to worry about that.
Trezor is the original and first hardware wallet, it's amazing to see that Trezor One is still working today and receiving updates.
We can't say that for any other brand of hardware wallets, most of them got discontinued and replaced new devices.
Ledger and Coldcard have a whole graveyard of defunct hardware wallet.  :P

I would always suggest getting Open Source hardware wallet if possible, and there are plenty of options available today:

Yeah, trezor is probably the best option for most people. No need to worry about it.

And it also supports many altcoins, and they are fast to add support for new coins. You will probably never need to buy another cryptocurrency wallet again, unless if it gets damaged somehow.

Forum related / Re: New child boards for Bitcoin wallet softwares
« on: January 02, 2024, 08:20:01 PM »
I also notice there is a Bitcoin forum board, so I believe it makes sense to have child boards for Bitcoin wallets such as Bitcoin Core, Electrum, Mycellium, Ledger, Trezor and more.

Maybe just one board , bitcoin wallets, will be enough.  Or just electrum board, which is by far the easiest and most flexible bitcoin wallet.  And highly used.

I miss a hardware wallet board , for general HW discussions

There are some plans, goals, and desires that some of us could not archive this year, and the year is coming to an end. We have to try again next year, and as such, it is very important to make new-year resolution plans.

Thanks for reading. Drop your opinion.

Personally, I always fail in these new year goals and resolutions.  Unless it is something very specific which is probably going to happen anyway, or a goal to read X books, make sports, etc...

Financial goals are important only if they are realistic within your possibilities.  You can't make your goal something like "bitcoin will be 100k next year"

I don't think this should be a problem, Microstrategy is a group of people which means that it's not only owned by a single person, it's a team but they are using Michael Saylor as the face of the investment, don't he surprised that that bitcoin is owned by more than 100 of people and when they want to spend or make a decision on what to do with that bitcoin, they need to consult them as well.

Exactly

Michael Saylor isn't the owner of those bitcoin,  he is just the custodian.

Just like binance or any other exchange that hold crypto for their customers.

Large investors certainly have a role to play in the bitcoin ecosystem and economic. But they so not hold all power, as miners are also big players as well

AFAIK, Trezor hardware wallets has vulnerabilities related to Trezor so I won't trust either Ledger nor Trezor if I am looking to buy a hardware wallet.

I remember Passport is a good choice but its not a convenient option for day-to-day usage so picking a hardware wallet is not an easy task either.

Trezor is one of the oldest wallets around. It  is certainly safe, there is no need to worry about that.

Every software has vulnerabilities  , but trezor ones are quite unlikely to happen, as they need physical access to the device

Vou continuar usando a binance, a idéia é sempre realizar lucro em USDT e nunca em reais, portanto, pra mim vou continuar usando bem pouco corretoras.

Opa, que bom ver um rosto conhecido. Bem vindo criptoevangelista

Hey Royse777,
Please look at my screenshot above , i'm using Safepal wallet to receive week 2  my rewards but in my User Interface wallet is "Failed" .

This is my wallet Bitcoin for receive my rewards : https://blockchair.com/bitcoin/address/bc1qmkppjl4cd9nd25efwx4canlrcl84lxmjh4ydry

For week 1 , i've done received my rewards , thanks
For week 2 , notyet received

This is congestion for tx blockchain Bitcoin and now members deal with reward paid Litecoin.

...

There is no problem at all.
Actually,  the problem is in the software you are using, a a bad wallet.

As suggested above  get a better wallet such as electrum

Thee transaction didn't fail, it is just pending confirmation. Fees are getting lower and it will get a confirmation eventually,  just like the other one of the past week. It may take a few hours or days.

Do you have the rules that explicitly says this? I couldn't find mythical activity requirements.

Thanks

I didn't find a topic that explicitly talked about this, but searching up and down this forum I came across this message, and I think it's reliable given that it was written by an ex-president

Ethereum Forum / Re: Is staking ETH on Binance risky?
« on: December 31, 2023, 09:25:01 PM »
I am impressed about how many people consider leaving assets in binance "completely safe".

Be careful guys. Leaving money in exchange isn't ever completely safety.

No way mate that it is risk for Binance exchange, safety is at highest level with much new security passwords that allow. You can even earn Ethereum there for profits throught weeks or months. You choose good if you want to keep your assets in exchange for long term.

I think binance is safe.

MtGox and many other dead bodies were safe too.

The problem is that the risk is not worth.

Binance may have legal probelm and your coins may get freeze. It may be hacked or whatever,  many things may happen.

If you want to stake eth,  I suggest using something recommended from ethereum.org

https://ethereum.org/en/staking/

Bitcoin Forum / Re: Bitcoin hardware wallet
« on: December 30, 2023, 10:34:56 AM »
I have nothing in mind but a Ledger wallet. If you are looking for a safe and tested hardware wallet you can also try it and see for yourself that this is indeed the best hardware wallet. Just make sure to buy at the official website of Ledger to avoid receiving a compromised wallet.
Like seriously? I can't adviev anyone to invest on Ledger wallet, they are not as good as Trezor, and how many times have you heard bad things about Trezor? Because I have not, unlike Ledger, they are not really doing a good job on security of their users.

For me I will go with Trezor, Keystone, Ellipal.

I agree, trezor is my first option right now as well.

Ledger has some problems now.

Recent bad news:

Ledger connect kit compromised
