Crypto Raffle / Lottery / Re: New Year 2024 Raffle/ Lottery
« on: January 04, 2024, 06:57:34 PM »
So, for example, hugeblack, bitmover and dkbit98, I pay for each of them 5 tickets. 183003 ALTT (I guess I calculated correctly)
Oh thanks man for including us all, you must be a billionaire :)
Is there any secret trick how did you get so many ALTT tokens? Purchase, airdrop or something else?

ETH rewards will burn a lot of fees...but good luck!

I don't understand why everyone created topics in ANN board along with all the tokens, new buttcoins and stuff like that.
Someone seriously need to send me map with instructions for using altcoinstalks forum...

Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: Crypto Cards: Convenience or Curiosity?
« on: January 04, 2024, 06:13:48 PM »
Crypto cards can be useful but they can also be very risky, I would never keep larger amount of coins there.
I used and tested few crypto virtual cards but I used them only for smaller purchases.

Few days ago I watched interesting documentary movie called Bitconned, and I recommend everyone to watch it.
This scammers tricked a lot of people and earned millions selling worthless centra tokens for  their Centra card.
Check out Bitconned movie trailer and learn something

Binance / Re: Binance Investment in Meme token
« on: January 04, 2024, 06:00:20 PM »
What is yours opinion about binance venture this step? will it will bring any positive result in future?
It's enough to look at tokenomics of this meme crap to understand why Binance exchange is behind them.
2% of supply is owned by Binance Launchpool and I am sure they are behind private sales also, and this token will probably be released on binance chain.
They own so much Bitcoin now (one of the largest holders) that they can do whatever they want to increase their profits, before they decide to shut down their business (probably in next few years).

Suggestion Box / Re: Show my Topics
« on: January 03, 2024, 05:14:23 PM »
Profile → Profile Info → Show posts... → Topics
Ah ok that explains it now, but it looks different for me than image you showed.
I didn't get that I could switch orange boxes on right side from Messages, Topics and Attachements.

Locking this topic now and I hope it helps someone.

There have been slight increases in Bitcoin transaction fees recently. Ethereum has consistently experienced similar issue, which doesn't make much of a difference. I would like to know about other altcoins with low transaction fees.
I think that best alternative with low transaction fees is monero, and you are going to have additional benefit of much better privacy than with bitcoin.
It's easy to do atomic swap and exchange bitcoin to monero and vice versa, and you don't even have to use centralized exchanges for that.
Good about monero is that it is decentralized, unlike most of other altcoins.

You might want to check this website for fees:

Suggestion Box / Show my Topics
« on: January 03, 2024, 12:16:39 PM »
I want to see only the topics I created in forum.
Currently I can only show all my posts form my profile, and I have to dig and open each post to see my topics.
This is not a problem when I have small number of posts, but imagine this situation with thousands of posts.  :P

Suggestion Box / Archive board
« on: January 03, 2024, 12:10:26 PM »
Is there any Archive board in Altcoinstalks forum?
If not than it should be created.

I could not find it anywhere but I think this would be a good idea to have something like this.
This could be a nice place to move all old, deleted or edited topics and boards that are inactive for years.

Bitcoin Forum / Re: Bitcoin hardware wallet
« on: January 03, 2024, 12:01:29 PM »
Trezor is one of the oldest wallets around. It  is certainly safe, there is no need to worry about that.
Trezor is the original and first hardware wallet, it's amazing to see that Trezor One is still working today and receiving updates.
We can't say that for any other brand of hardware wallets, most of them got discontinued and replaced new devices.
Ledger and Coldcard have a whole graveyard of defunct hardware wallet.  :P

I would always suggest getting Open Source hardware wallet if possible, and there are plenty of options available today:

Suggestion Box / Re: Ignore button and Self-moderated topics
« on: January 03, 2024, 11:52:29 AM »
I really miss ignore button in this forum, and not just for other members but for boards.
There are just to many boards for my liking, even after I hidden and collapsed whole sections like NFTs, Further Discussions, Trading & Traders and few others.
I want to ignore many boards in same way like I can do in bitcointalk forum.
For example, I think that Exchange boards should be in Marketplace or similar, not in Cryptocurrency Ecosystem.

There is also option for admins and president to do major change, by deleting and merging boards to make forum cleaner.

Signature Campaigns / Re: Altcoinstalks Signature Campaign Observer
« on: January 02, 2024, 11:41:51 AM »
People should not trust me and with a given link to announcement thread, they can easily get official from the project team. I decided to keep the table like it is now but anyway, thank you for your idea.
It looks good to me.
Is it ok if members translate your list to other languages?

Yes, it really is) Glad to see you here) +1
Nice to see you also tvplus006!
I am still trying to navigate in this forum, and it's not that easy.

Tell me how did you get that nice Scam Buster image in your profile?  :)

Forum related / Re: Request for adding up the 2FA in ATT :)
« on: January 02, 2024, 11:30:49 AM »
Let them first fix basic issues I see every day, and later we can talk about adding 2FA.
I think they first need to upgrade servers for altcoinstalks forum because I am getting more error messages like 503 service unavailable,
not sure if they can handle increased number of new members and potential stronger DDOS attacks.

Forum related / Re: Hiding boards and other questions?
« on: January 01, 2024, 11:47:02 PM »
can you create separate threads for the questions, because jumping from one topic to another is not ideal in case someone else has the same issue/question
Yes I can do it, but I am sure everyone who teleports here will have almost all the same questions and issues like me, so it's better for them to check them all in one place.
Maybe I should just rename topic to something like All dkbit98 problems with Altcoinstalks forum. ;)

Crypto Wallets / Re: Open Source Hardware Wallets
« on: January 01, 2024, 11:41:25 PM »
You mentioned foundation passport is using Coldcard old code am curious why you didn't add Coldcard to your list.
I didn't add coldcard wallet because they are not open source wallet anymore, and they sadly have mentally unstable owner nvk.
Coldcard decided to change license to common clause, and that is not open source license, they even false advertised for months:
https://commonsclause.com

Crypto Wallets / Open Source Hardware Wallets
« on: January 01, 2024, 12:22:34 PM »
Open source software is made freely and available for possible modification and redistribution by anyone.
Bitcoin is open source and I think that Hardware wallets should also be Open Source so that everyone can check and verify their code.
Not all wallets are open source, and who knows what code they have and if someone can post firmware update with big bug or malicious code.

Hardware wallets with Open Source firmware:

Coolwallet Pro, Coldcard and Safepal X1 devices are source available, NOT open source.

* based on modified Trezor code
** based on ColdCard code
c open source hardware certified by OSHWA
r firmware reproduced by walletscrutiny or bitcoinbinary.

DIY Open Source Hardware wallets (signing devices) (only for advanced users):

sd Signing Device without permanent storage.

You can check and verify if someone managed to reproduce firmware for this hardware wallets using two websites walletscrutiny and bitcoinbinary.

Open Source can also have bugs, and code should be verified and checked before installing.
If anyone knows any other open source hardware wallet please post it here so I can update my list and make corrections.
