However, I have to point out that any offer to send an advertising PM or email to all users is, at the very least, an absolutely bad idea.
It is terrible idea, especially receiving emails from third parties.
This would be consider spam in most places.

I'd rather not get an email about a service offered, but it's not the end of the world if it happens. As long as it's controlled and my info isn't being sold I guess an email once a month is not so invasive.
There is much higher risk of email leaks with this feature, so I would recommend using unique email address only for this forum, maybe even using email aliases.
If anyone is interested in good recommendations for service offering aliases send me a PM for more information.

Bitcoin Forum / Re: LIST - Bitcoin mixers & Tumbler services! ✅✅
« on: January 11, 2024, 06:15:00 PM »
Nice and clean list, but maybe you should also add list of archived and closed mixers (no need to add all details for them).
I would also add Joinmarket, and controversial wallets with Coinjoin (Samourai and Wasabi).

Are all listed mixers support only Bitcoin or there are some with support for other altcoins?
Does anyone know what happened with Tornado Cash and similar service.

People will always prefer what is more convenient for them and vast majorify of those that are into crypto don't really care about "being your own bank" and everything else that Bitcoin stands for so its not a surprise that people tend to use centralized exchanges as banks and I don't see it changing in the near future.

Old habits die hard.  :P
People got used to banks and now they want to turn crypto into one more bank-like service, because it's easy.

Yeah I checked it out a little bit, hopefully more of us come here so we can revive the local. I'll deff try to be active there as well.

I don't know what to write that we already dont have in other forum, only thing I could think of is privacy, mixers and altcoins.

Bitcoin Forum / Re: Fee Finally Down below 40 Sat/vb
« on: January 11, 2024, 05:58:42 PM »
Several Bitcoin ETFs approved and we have fees almost back to normal again, something is strange here.
I think this is just quiet preparation time for big storm, so better consolidate your UTXOs and get ready to bumpy ride ahead.
Maybe we see new ATH this year and that could mean ATH fees also ;)

eXch / Re: eXch - Official Announcements and Discussion Thread

Great to see guys from eXch are in this forum  8)
This is one of the best centralized exchanges without kyc right now!

I know you have been working hard on adding support for more assets on your exchange with Thor chain, but maybe you can consider another one.
Adding Lightning was cool but I think that adding Liquid Network assets (L-BTC, L-USDT) would work great in combination with LN, Bitcoin and monero.
I would use this more than stable coins on ethereum, especially when fees are high.

USDT Forum / USDT on Liquid Network
« on: January 11, 2024, 05:40:02 PM »

Stable coins are possible on Bitcoin by using second layer solutions like Liquid Network.
If you want to have best privacy for stable coin I would suggest checking out L-USDT because it has confidential transactions.
It works the same way like USDT on other chains but you don't need to have base tokens like trx, eth, bnb, etc.

L- USDT explorers:

Wallets supporting L-USDT and L-BTC:

- Blockstream Green wallet (mobile and desktop)
- Aqua mobile wallet (desktop soon)
- Jade hardware wallet (open source)
- Ledger hardware wallet (closed source!)

Exchanges supporting L-USDT and L-BTC:

- Bitfinex, SideSwap, HodlHodl...

Bitcoin Forum / Re: Mix-Aggregators
« on: January 11, 2024, 04:37:01 PM »
I hope that soon all of those mixers will join this forum.
Except scam mixers, we don't need them  ;)
It is best to do your own research and be careful with any new mixer service that appears from nowhere.

Just yesterday I started a topic on this forum about it LIST - Bitcoin mixers & Tumbler services! ✅✅ Still I need to finish it and I have to ask the admin which board is adequate for it.
I saw it after I created my topic.
There is a difference that I won't update anything since I don't own any of original websites
The idea is to have an open discussion about mixers, after the ban on Bitcointalk. Perhaps the essence is not so much in comparing services, as that we should all be informed in time if there is a problem with some service.
Discussion about this services is going to increase, it takes some time for everyone to adjust to this forum.
Maybe we can create more topics in our local boards also.

If altcoinstalks succeeds in attracting these services, then there will be good discussion about them here and the table may be updated regularly, reducing the possibility of you being scammed.
Real question is will altcoinstalks servers be able to hold increased traffic without crashing. ;)

the winner is

This is my first ever win in altcoinstalks forum, so it's time for celebration 8)
Free virtual drinks and snacks to everyone 🍺🍺

PS
My suggestion is to think some other method for giveaways, maybe with bitmover giveaway manager.
Cheaters will just create a bunch of topics to increase chances.

Ask a Moderator / Re: Self-moderated topics?
« on: January 11, 2024, 04:21:05 PM »
I don't know if you noticed, but you can't even delete your post here. You can edit it, and remove the content, but you cannot completely remove it from the forum.
Once published, it stays forever. For the self-moderated function, you probably need admin privileges.
I didn't know about that, but that is weird decision to remove delete option from members.
That means that only moderators can delete posts.

Why deletion is limited ? because some users abused to earn points, answering the topic, deleting the answer then answering again and again to earn points that can be exchanged into our token ...
I know that cheaters are always going to find holes to abuse any system, but to disable deletion for all members is not good solution.
You could disable it only for members caught cheating and for new members with low reputation.

This function can be misused by trolls, so I don't think we need it on a regular base. It is okay when it is given to some respected users like campaign managers so they can better organize their work, but regular users can use a report button and if someone will overspam some topics, the violators will get penalties.
I can survive without self-moderated topics but I need delete function for regular use.

Ask a Moderator / Self-moderated topics?
« on: January 10, 2024, 01:04:02 PM »
Are there any plans to add option for members to create self-moderated topics or something similar like we have in other forums?

Most of the time I would just create normal topics, but sometimes I expect to receive a lot of spam and low value posts, so I would like to keep certain topics clean.

I found out that tron has become one of the worst altcoins for sending USDT, and I see people all the time asking for tron donation to sent their transactions.
Only way to use it with low fees if you stake large amounts of tron, do voting and bunch of other stuff, so I would just avoid that circus all together.
Instead of using altcoins and paying additional fee for buying them and exchanging from bitcoin, you can also use second layer solutions like Liquid network, or Lightning Network.

They've really tried everything with the Ordinals...
Nintendo games on bitcoin... this is pure waste of time and space  :P
Now I understand better why so many people refused for so long to make any bigger changes to bitcoin code.
Developers had good intentions with taproot but it made a mess and it created fee chaos.

Very good news to hear this news, but there is a service from Japan called Zenmarket that accepts Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency payment for years, so you can use it even now for additional fee.
What is interesting that Zenmarket was already working with Mercari, Rakuten, Amazon and YahooShopping all this time, this are all biggest shopping giants in Japan :)
Zenmarker is using Coingate and they charger 3.5% deposit fee, same like for other payment options like Paypal, Alipay and card payments.

Bitcoin Forum / Mix-Aggregators

For anyone wondering how to compare all the different tools and mixers used for privacy, there are several websites released recently.

MixHub was made by bitcointalk member PrivacyIsImportant and it is showing all currently available mixers and history of seized, closed and scam services.
Anyone can propose changes and add their own links and corrections, and there are clearnet and onion links available.
https://mixhub.to/

BitMixList was released by bitcointalk member NotATether and it shows the list of mixers and other privacy services, wallets, dex exchanges, etc.
There are clearnet and onion links available.

Do your own research and watch out for any fake lists that often contain phishing links and scam services!
