I think the safest bet would be investing in couple of next-gen infrastructure projects. Projects like Aion, Icon, Wanchain etc. could be absolutely huge in the coming years.

You can hold your alts in your ETH wallet for as long as you want but the problem starts if the project moves to their own blockchain or any other non-ETH infrastructure. In this case you have to claim your tokens in a swap so if you "forget" about them, your old tokens could become useless.

The only one I am planning to invest into right now is coming up in the next few days and that one is NEX. The market is still too unstable so its extremely risky to invest in any wild cards right now.

Nope, I wold definitely avoid such projects which lack of transparency. Its important for investors to know the amount of demand for an individual ICO.
