Bitcoin Forum / Re: Bitcoin: Could Anything Be More Magical Than This ?
« on: December 13, 2023, 06:38:19 AM »
Some countries and government even tag Bitcoin to be illegal but that's a different case with Gold.
Every country has it's on set of laws which we don't really have to look after, the Bitcoin is considered illegal in those countries because it has attacked their centralized fiat systems and they fear that if it continues to grow at such rates then most citizens of their countries would put their money in Bitcoin instead of the fiats that have been loosing their value due to inflation. Gold is known to be as a very precious metal and it's physical in nature but if we want to see the digital version of gold then we only see Bitcoin.

I know that it would be foolish to compare Bitcoin to gold because the value of a Bitcoin is way higher than gold even the bull market isn't started fully yet. There are predictions that Bitcoin can get up-to $1M per coin and if that happens then most people will love to have Bitcoin instead of gold for investing purposes.

yahoo62278 is a well known manager from Bitcointalk and I believe he's among the oldest manager I know. He has managed so many campaigns on Bitcointalk and now he's offering his management service on this forum. A trustworthy and highly recommended member of the community.

Sorting Box / Re: Need buy more altcoins now?
« on: December 12, 2023, 06:11:10 PM »
Indeed, that is why I choose the top coin, especially from the big market such as Binance
I believe that you have invested in those coins that have been on market for long time. I believe coins like Dogecoin, Monero, Ripple, Solana, Lite Coin and a few other coins are safe for long term investment because they'll follow Bitcoin in the bull run. The king is always going to be Bitcoin but some people prefer to invest in altcoins instead of Bitcoin and for those people I guess the above coins can be good choices.

I buy altcoins little by little before halving. usually, I compare ATH and ALT and then take decision to buy

Yeah, that's a pretty good strategy to accumulate altcoins but I think one should only buy the altcoins that are known for many years because new altcoins sometimes can go zero in value and the ones who invest in those might face huge losses.

The users who have been accepted into the campaign have put a lot of effort into this forum (I've only been here for 3 years, I try to work hard) and I assure you that they all deserve it. The time and dedication that these users have made has been and is enormous.
I agree with you and yes the users truly deserve their acceptance in the campaign. I'm happy to see that members of this forum and also members who teleported from Bitcointalk got accepted into the campaign. I'm pretty sure that soon we will see new signature campaigns on this forum. The forum is getting good traffic and I believe the day isn't far when we may see some good platforms advertising their services on this forum.

I'm sorry that you can't participate in this campaign, but I'm sure you can do so in many others seeing how the forum is gaining ground  ;)
Not a big problem sir, I'm positive that the forum will get attention from the platforms and they'll surely run their campaigns on this forum in coming days. I believe that most of the mixing platforms would consider this forum for their advertising in coming days. Thanks for your kind reply! I truly appreciate that!

We are here for a reason. Crypto users never wanted to be dominated by the government, which was the reason Satoshi created Bitcoin decades ago. Then, other currencies were invented, and anonymity lovers widely accepted the concept of cryptocurrency. The government always wanted to control everything people do, including their digital footprint. Now, they are trying to limit us on the internet as well. We always needed people who would stand against them.
I believe that standing against government isn't a good step and in fact that's not possible fully because we are living in the matrix which we can't avoid and that's why it won't be helpful for anyone to stand against governments. I agree that Satoshi created Bitcoin because he really didn't like the concept of centralized currencies and wanted to have something that would allow anyone to trade goods without any interference from third parties(Centralized Banks,) and he created Bitcoin.

But, now the Bitcoin isn't the same it used to be because the centralized exchanges control a lot of Bitcoin and most users save their Bitcoin on those centralized exchanges. Which's something Satoshi never thought of but that's a truth which we can't neglect. I'm pretty impressed by the statement of the admin that he won't share any information of the users to any authorities which's something great to hear and I believe that's enough for our satisfaction.

Bitcoin Forum / Re: Bitcoin: Could Anything Be More Magical Than This ?
« on: December 11, 2023, 06:07:58 PM »
I had the same thought when I read this post. How is Bitcoin magical? It's just a digital currency, but what sets it apart is that it's decentralized. Calling Bitcoin magical sounds like a fairy tale to me, and most fairy tales might never come true.
Yeah, I also agree that calling Bitcoin magical would make it a fairy tale which would be injustice to Satoshi's vision. The Bitcoin isn't magical because it's part of the real world where we all live and it's not based on fiction or on someone's beliefs.

The thing is digital in nature but has way higher value then gold which makes it wonderful. But, yeah if some people consider it magical because they believe that it's something that happened in fairy takes back then but now happening in real life then in that sense they might be right with their words but still it's not magical but an actual currency that anyone can use.

General Discussion / Re: Ledger vs Coinbase
« on: December 11, 2023, 04:10:55 PM »
I've kept my crypto assets on Coinbase for roughly two years, but recently, I purchased a Ledger Nano X to move my assets to cold storage due to concerns about the security of keeping them online. However, I haven't transferred any crypto yet because I'm now uncertain.

On one hand, Coinbase appears to be a reliable and secure platform. If a major event, like a significant hack, were to occur, there might be a chance, albeit small, of recovering some funds.

On the other hand, there are widespread warnings about the risks of leaving assets online, which I acknowledge. Yet, the current concerns regarding Ledger's security are hard to overlook. Trust is crucial with a cold wallet, and if something were to go wrong—like reports of misplaced funds—I fear there might be no chance of retrieval.

I have a 14-day window to decide on my return option for the Ledger closes. I'm seeking opinions on this matter.

I would recommend you to go with an open-source software based wallet instead of going with an hardware wallet. Personal wallet is really important as the wallets in those exchanges aren't in your control because the exchange has the private keys of those wallets. I believe a software based wallet like Electrum is going to be a good choice for anyone who want to have their Bitcoin in a cold wallet.

I would definitely recommend you to format your drives and wipe out everything from those drives and then start a fresh copy of either Linux based distro or Windows OS. I must say that Linux is far safer and secure than Windows OS but still you can go with Windows OS. Once that's installed then you should create a wallet with Electrum and then try to understand that software based wallet fully before depositing your Bitcoin into it.

Your should also be careful about the private keys and seed phrases because saving them privately is very important. I would recommend you to save those on a separate SSD which should also be discounted from internet and should be kept in a safe place. Also you should write those on a paper and save that paper in a secure place. Disconnect that system from internet once everything is working and everything is going to be safe and okay.

I know they're going to be allowed to advertise here as the admin has pointed out. I'm curious the policy on whether or not to cooperate with law enforcement? If they come in asking for IPs of people promoting mixers 1 day, will the forum comply?

simple answer No,
because they do not have the right, and i am not a US citizen, nor the server is in the US
there are a 1000 other reason that i will not go into in details.
Pretty bold answer I believe and yes I guess it's your right to not allow anyone to get details of the users who are active on your site and are working as members of the site. I believe that in that forum the admin had no other option and that's why he decided to take actions in the form of not allowing mixers to run their campaigns anymore.

I believe that law enforcement agencies aren't against the mixers in general but they are against those mixers that might have done shady mixings which were somehow involved with money laundering cases. That's the reason for seizing of those mixers and the good mixers should not get any problem because they aren't doing any shady things.

The Bank of Russia has offered an update on the future of the digital ruble pilot, the Russian central bank digital currency (CBDC). The bank’s press service clarified that the pilot will continue throughout 2024.
Your opinion is greatly appreciated.
So there won't be any digital ruble until 2025 if I'm not wrong? I believe that they'll launch their CBDC in early 2025 or maybe in final quarter of 2024. They even claimed that there won't be any transaction fees for customers or citizens of the country which's a positive thing I believe.

Cryptocurrency Trading / Re: Daily crypto update 2023
« on: December 11, 2023, 11:49:56 AM »
I'm all ears for crypto updates from fellow traders. It's a dynamic market, and getting insights from different perspectives can be incredibly helpful.
I agree with you the crypto updates from fellow traders can be valuable for many traders because sometimes traders are so concerned about the technical indicators that they miss the updates part and that may be cause of huge losses for them. I believe that each trader has his/her own knowledge which he/she can share to help other traders.

Basic questions about this forum / Re: Signature Campaign
« on: December 11, 2023, 11:46:35 AM »
Hello, I'm new on the forum and want to know if there's a way I can run a signature campaign on this forum.
Can someone guide me with the steps like we used to do on bitcointalk.org?

Thanks!

I think the steps are similar to what you do on Bitcointalk but instead of services the managers are posting signature campaign threads on marketplace board on this forum. I have seen Mixero and Coinomize applicants on this forum and I believe that you can also run your signature campaign on this forum the way you used to run them on Bitcointalk.
