Bitcoin Cash Forum / Re: Is BCH worth investing?
« on: October 27, 2018, 01:03:05 AM »
Bitcoin Cash is very likely a great “investment” * now, but in order to understand why, you need to understand a few historical details about Bitcoin.
For most of Bitcoin’s history, up until roughly 2016, Bitcoin was an incredible technology. You could send any amount of money anywhere in the world to anyone almost instantly and almost for free. Bitcoin was the worlds first peer-to-peer, decentralized cash.

Bitcoin Forum / Re: The Future Of Crypto Market Without Bitcoin?

Bitcoin is a very strong brand, and if this moment disappear, it would be a big blow to the whole crypto world.
But if he slowly retire, many new quality coins will replace him there will be no big problems.
In any case, bitcoin was sentenced to fall due to a break in his community.
And because of that, it will be difficult to have a high-quality fork on bitcoin in the near future, and problems such as high fee and slow transactions make it currently almost unusable

Bitcoin Forum / Re: Bitcoin & Electricity: Threat or Blessings
« on: October 27, 2018, 12:57:14 AM »
Electric bills have already put miners looking for a less costly source of energy. Companies have been looking to be able to places like Canada plus the Sicilian province wherever electricity is typically less costly. Because miners have incentives to use cheap electrical energy, this results in more R&D in the energy space. In the long run, this will make forms of electricity less costly to all of modern society as innovations are manufactured in energy.

There’s no difference to the public between bitcoin and any other crypto, other than the fact that they haven’t heard of the other ones so they aren’t as legitimate.
If bitcoin, valued at 8000, is replaced by a different crypto, public trust of cryptos will be nonexistent. Anyone that thinks pumping and dumping a coin to devalue another has no idea how bad that looks for either coin.
This sub sounds like a bunch of stepchildren angry that daddy likes his real son better. Enjoy the gains that Bitcoin Cash is getting, I know I am, but do not try to make excuses of how you are getting them.

A fourth way to earn bitcoins is to mine them yourself. I’ve heard mixed stories about mining bitcoins and from what hear you have to have some technical expertise. I know for certain you have to know if the cost of mining bitcoins is going to be worth the reward. I’ve heard horror stories about energy bills costing more than the bitcoin itself.

Bitcoin Forum / Re: Should i invest in only Bitcoin?

Investors buy stocks and bonds because they bring in future cash flows, interest and principal income in the case of bonds and dividend for stocks, and capital gains from a possible increase in price in the future. But bitcoin's only source of return is price increase.

Bitcoin Forum / Re: Why do you choose Bitcoin?
« on: October 27, 2018, 12:49:24 AM »
Bitcoin was originally created as an alternative, decentralized payment method. Unlike international bank transfers at the time, it was low-cost and almost instantaneous. An added benefit for merchants (less so for users) was that it was irreversible, removing the threat of expensive charge-backs.

However, the improvement in domestic payment methods and the rapid development of alternative (non-cryptocurrency) forms of international transfers has reduced bitcoin's advantage in this area, especially given its increasing fees and frequent network bottlenecks.

Bitcoin Forum / Re: Why people sell bitcoins?
« on: October 27, 2018, 12:33:28 AM »
Because the supply is low and demand is high, the price of bitcoin rises. Soon enough, the price will be high enough that many people who bought bitcoins when it was cheaper will decide to sell and make money off of it.

Bitcoin Forum / Re: Why people are still buying Bitcoin?
« on: October 27, 2018, 12:25:08 AM »
This is a great time to buy. Watch the market is going to go down so low that everyone will see the time to buy and it will rise up up and away. What bitcoin is capable of is truly an innovation that will change the world, it is here to stay. It will rebound to 30–50k by the years end.

Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: The factors lead to the bull run?

The Second Battle of Bull Run the year after in 1862 began for remarkably similar reasons (you'd think they'd learn...). With the failure of George McClellan's slow and steady Peninsular Campaign, that got bogged down by a commander waiting too long to attack and not exploiting his victories, the American public and military were desperate for a decisive victory. This was supposed to come near the site of the First Battle of Bull Run, perhaps avenging they shame they had experienced the year before.

As you can see in the snapshot below, the price of Ethereum grew from $9 in January 2017 to $1,389 in January 2018 giving a return of over 17000%. Its price almost doubled in price last month, from $396 at the beginning of April (2018) to $648 today.

Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: What reasons behind BTC fall?
« on: October 27, 2018, 12:10:47 AM »
One difference I would like to underline is that this time, because of the exceptionally high price it reached at one point, there is way more public interest and panic going on because A LOT of amateur investors jumped onboard and invested more than they could afford to lose, which is never a good route to go.

Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: When to trade altcoins?
« on: October 27, 2018, 12:07:55 AM »
While trading aims at frequent buying and selling of assets to take profit from market price changes, the goal of investing is to build profits over an extended period of time by buying and hoddling of assets.
