President Joe Biden looks set to appoint another former crypto executive to head up the Office of the Comptroller of the Currenc
Former Ripple advisor set to become Comptroller of the Currency: WSJ NEWS
According to the Wall Street Journal, a former member of Ripple’s board of advisors directors is likely to become the next Comptroller of the Currency.

The report cites insiders “familiar with the matter” who expect President Biden to nominate former Treasury Department official, Michael Barr, to the top post overseeing national banks.

The position as Comptroller of the Currency serves as the administrator of the federal banking system, and is the chief officer of the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC). The WSJ described it as one of the most powerful banking regulators:

“The comptroller oversees hundreds of bank supervisors stationed inside large U.S. financial firms, making the person in the job one of the most powerful bank regulators.”
The official decision is yet to be finalized and the WSJ was unable to verify the story with comments from the White House, the Treasury Department, or Barr himself.

If approved, Michael Barr would be the second appointee with cryptocurrency experience in the position following former Coinbase executive Brian Brooks, who stepped down last week after eight months as the Trump administration’s acting comptroller.

Barr was appointed as a member of the Advisory Board of Ripple Labs in 2015. At the time he was keen to foster innovation in the payments sector, stating;

“Our global payments system is badly outdated. I think innovation in payments can help make the financial system safer, reduce cost, and improve access and efficiency for consumers and businesses alike.”
President Biden’s team also considered law professor at the University of California, Mehrsa Baradaran, for the position.

The Biden administration has also tapped crypto-knowledgable Gary Gensler as the most likely candidate to head the Securities and Exchange Commission. The former Chairman of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission is known to be more positive towards decentralization and financial digitization than the previous inhabitant in the role.

All the above coin are very popular coins and all the coins are having good future so you can invest in any of the coin and still make your profit later but I will personally recommend LTC coin if anybody wants to invest.

They are not just popular coins, but they are also potential coins. There are some coins that sometimes there prices is so slow if not they are increasing slowly unlike bitcoins that is really performing well. Its ATH is so really amazing, that many of us don't expected that it will happen.

bitcoin will not have a goal, the price of bitcoin will always be very expensive because the main purpose of bitcoin is to become a legal payment alternative so that it can make bitcoin widely used and will make the price very expensive.

Mate I just want to clarify your opinion. You said that bitcoin will not have goal and you also said that the main purpose of bitcoin... Actually it is contradiction. If the Bitcoin has a purpose meaning they have goal also. Becuase  purpose will be attain by having a specif goal to achieve that specific purpose.
Shalom, shalom.

Bitcoin Forum / Bullish periods of Bitcoin
« on: January 01, 2021, 09:26:50 AM »
In 2010 -2011 there is 10 months of bullish period and it is increasing. In 2011-2013 two years and there are three years in 2015-2017.  What do you think is it a pattern to follow or it is just a coincidence, from almost one year, then two years and another one is three years. What will be next bullish period of Bitcoin, do you think it takes 4 years or 2021 will be  the next bullish period of bitcoin?

I find it hard to choose from these three options. Maybe functionality? In the sense that with bitcoin we got a financial system that is very different from the way we are used to thinking about money. That's what makes it popular, and I guess bitcoin couldn't do much without its popularity, so I voted for this option. I think whales are more the result of bitcoin's resilience, not the cause of it.

I chose functionality. Bitcoin gain influence because of its function to serve its clients. When Bitcoin gain influence because of its function, it attracts more whales. So in my own perspective, the reason is functionality why bitcoin is known and still at the top among all cryptos.

Basic Questions about Cryptos / Re: "Knowledge is power"
« on: January 01, 2021, 06:38:16 AM »
No experience and knowledge, no development possible.

There is a good thing a bout experience. There is two way of gaining knowledge, first is formal education and second is through experience. There is difference between formal education of gaining  knowledge and experience. Formal education teaches us the lesson before the test, while experience give us the lesson first before the test. So you choose what way of gaining knowledge do you want.

FUD in cryptos is normal. Ripple can survive and overcome the circumstances its facing. Although it's disappointing to dump the price. But banks and the team will solve the issue for faithful supporters of ripple.

Yes sir, this is the main thing that I know, how ripple can survive on its issue. I believe its partner are working together on this matter. I'm looking forward to ripple because of its potential and the system that this coin carried. One thing is sure on this issue, if Ripple will not follow the rules of Sec, Sec will perform its duty.

I think the reason why Bitcoin is still standing despite of its rising and falling is because of its Decentralized system, business minded people was attracted with this kind of system. Another factors to consider about its sustainability factor are Scarcity, Divisibility, Utility, and Transferability. Bitcoin also dominates all alts becuase of its influence and the people at the back of this particular coin.
