In this crypto world, ensuring wallet security is essential for cryptocurrency users. Therefore, we should protect our private keys and use strong passwords. Also, 2FA, and following proper backup methods are very important. All the points you have raised are important but there are many more techniques that if followed will always keep your wallet safe. Personally I don't like to use vpb because using it requires giving device access which can be dangerous for you.

I used Kaspersky antivirus for my laptop in the past, but I lost quite a few important files. Besides, I use my personal gmail very seriously and always delete unnecessary gmail and do not enter the links there. I use extra disk to make my wallet more secure. The most secure way to use a hardware wallet is if you want.

You are right..using strong passwords and 2FA is also important. So do you still use an antivirus ?

By now you should be aware of StilachiRAT malware that is targeting crypto wallets. I noticed there’s no discussion about it on the forum. So here are few tips to help avoid it.

1. You should avoid clicking on random links come across or downloading attachments from unknown or unexpected sources; it might be on your social media account or through emails.

2.  You should install and update the antivirus, you have on your PC.

3. I also heard VPN works but i haven’t tried it myself

4. You should turn off unnecessary remote access and also use a firewall to block fake connections.

5. Always check for emails that gives a sense of urgency to take a quick action.

6. Check if there isn’t an unsual activity in your PC

7. Also remember to scan for malware regularly on your computer

This are some few tips that can help you to avoid this malware attack. If you also have any more to add, you can drop them.

Seriously, this made me realize tokens like $PNUT, $ACT and $TAO saw substantial price increase on Bitget before their subsequent listing on Binance, making investors maximize their profits. I guess i’d be keeping close watch on their new listings now. By the way, i would like to know if you made profits from this token also.
I have never put much efforts on altcoin trading and holding especially to what happened the Trump coin I was wanting to invest on it, immediately I saw the market manipulation over that coin I had to set some restrictions on altcoin investments as they could leads to potential loss.

Trump was and is still a meme coin which means it’s very volatile, a lot of those that went in early made their profits. It’s probably you discovered it late. It’s the same as  the one I mentioned above  also, entering into a trade is one of the best strategies.

Nope. I didn't make any money on this but I see a lot of people that have made that much in the airdrop of it. There is still some good strategy that remains like what you have said OP by looking at the early listings and by buying it through an exchange that has listed that token. It's still whoever gets first is the one that makes the most but those that are likely to hold this token might just jump into their losses because after the listing, it's a free for all market then and everyone is looking to get their shares and profits from the new comers.

Exactly, buying early on the one that list the token first will make investors more profits. Losses can be avoided if the trader is not greedy, the best is to take profits as soon as it’s made.

I’m sure i wasn’t the only one who noticed the listing of $BMT on Binance yesterday, resulted in losses for traders. I know the “pump and dump” pattern has been constant lately but i and many others were optimistic when it was announced yesterday but suprisingly, this token did not pump a bit instead it dumped immediately.

The most disappointing part was seeing some traders posting their profits because they bought it early on Bitget which listed it six days ago. I also heard early adopters gained about 300% while on the flip side, some were busy applying stop-loss.

Incentivised Posting / Shill / Re: Can $PAWS outperform DOGS ?

I am so disappinted with PAWS airdrop project after doing all task and success earn almost 200k points but not eligible because missing the activity checking task. Have filled form but still not get good result because my account still not eligible yet until right now with many user have withdraw their PAWS coins to Bybit or Bitget exchange.
Learning from how much supply for PAWS launchpool at Bybit I am not sure yet with PAWS possibility outperform from DOGS have good price when first time listing at market, many airdrop user get small reward although have thousand hundred points but seems not fairly convert points to be PWAS coins.

I honestly feel your disappointment as i wasn’t eligible also but i realized Bitget’s giveaway yesterday which is great to see. You can join here and try, you might be lucky. Regarding the price, I wouldn’t conclude the price based on Launchpool value, you know the total supply is best used to calculate.
I just checking with Bybit PAWS launchpool and they have huge reward around 1,5b coins for participants who stake USDT there or PAWS coins. Its good way for airdrop participants not eligible at airdrop project and earn coins trough launchpool, but how much reward allocated at Bitget exchange are bigger than Bybit exchange? Most important about large amount allocated depend how many participants join launchpool, if have less participants will earn many PAWS coins but many participants have small reward coins earned.

From what i’m seeing here on Bitget there are two events to benefit from, that’s automatically a better chance to get more rewards. Also for those who were not eligible, this will be a great opportunity to cover up…you should check it out.

It would be fair if its listing price is as good as $DOGS or better. Anyways, who else was not eligible and if you were…was the allocation fair enough ?

It can never be compared with $DOGS because the allocation is not very high; the price will only matter if users have gotten a good amount of tokens. In $DOGS, if I remember correctly, I received around 30k tokens from the airdrop itself, and then I got around 20k tokens from Binance as a reward for being an early depositer. So, I had a total of 50k+ tokens, and that gave me around $80 or something when it got listed.

Talking about $PAWS, the pre-market price is extremely low, and it already seems like a failure to me. I got around 5k tokens in this, and they would barely give me $5 unless its price shoots to $0.005 which is way too much to expect from it despite the hype because this hype is only from airdrop hunters and they are all going to dump their tokens at the listing.

Crypto is unpredictable, the price might shoot up at listing but it might maintain the momentum for a little while, this is the reason trading during the first few hours of launch is okay and i sometimes participate in exchanges event like Launchpool or PoolX. I’m bullish on it though because the total supply is lower compared to $DOGS’.

Basic Questions about Cryptos / Re: How to guess Bitcoin price to win?
« on: March 15, 2025, 09:31:43 AM »
Aside luck there are some professional traders that can give a better and reliable signal and the market will stick to their strategy, having a better knowledge and understanding of the market gives you better results and moreover it reduces your chances of risk or failure.
Are you talking about crypto influencers on social media, professional traders who manage VC funds, and so on? I doubt they'll share their analysis publicly since they don't want to lose profit. If anything they'll likely give us some nothing-burger information and sensational predictions to drive fomo. Even if talk about copy trading, I don't think those traders have a say on how they can influence the market based on their trading history. Then again I don't think their analysis matters in the context OP talked about. Not to mention some contests don't allow two users to share the same prediction.

No matter how professional a trader is they their chances of winning the contest is just higher than the person who made a random guess; it can never be certain they would win. At the end, luck has to be on one side because the prediction might be right at the moment but changed by the time the snapshot is taken.

Does anyone remember the PAWS the popular telegram miniapp that recently moved from TON to Solana blockchain. I’ve been seeing a lot of hype about its launch, some believe its listing price might be more compared to that of $DOGS because allegedly the eligible users for the airdrop are not up to 10 million, over 30 million(including me) was screened out after several weeks of farming. Their project, their rules.

Though i disagree with the speculation that it will outperform $DOGS because its has a total supply of 100 billion and its current pre market price on Bitget and Bybit is not to my expectation for a project that moved to Solana but trading it on premarket comes with extra perks so i might go for it since i wasn’t eligible for the airdrop.

It would be fair if its listing price is as good as $DOGS or better. Anyways, who else was not eligible and if you were…was the allocation fair enough ?

Bitcoin Forum / What’s the safest option to hold BTC ?
« on: March 07, 2025, 04:14:18 PM »
Following the recent situation surrounding some exchanges, it seems BTC is not safe to be held in CEXs wallet anymore. Take for instance, the recent Bybit hack which happened unexpectedly, billions of Ethereum was moved even though it was able to recover it through reserves and institutional loans.

This would have been another story entirely if the hack had been done to a Bitcoin reserve but in order to avoid future losses, i’ve been curious to know what the safest option to store BTC could be.

From the look of things, Pi really has the potential to reach above $10. For a coin that got listed not up to a month, it’s performing really well as against the current market conditions. I’m actually not anticipating another exchange listing instead i’m taking advantage of ongoing events. More exchanges should hold more events like Bitget candybomb, the fact that it reward users who deposit and trade is great.

13

Altcoins are mostly what I do convert immediately because most of them once they crash like this event is ongoing now, they would hardly survive it to pick up back and for some, that is the end of the road for them so the best thing I could do is to convert them to usdt to be on the safe side and buy Bitcoin and I did buy Bitcoin yesterday when it touched $78k  and now it is up and running. I strongly have the confidence in Bitcoin too because of its long time existence and market trading volume coupled with its acceptability globally.

USDT is the only that make sense these days because there is a chance that this dip is not yet over.  in the beginning of this year, the price just went sideways which was good until the trouble in crypto started with Trumpcoin and then the hack. i think there will be exchanges that will shutdown soon.

if it keeps the pace where this sideways will last a few months and the momentum is set to go up again. until today, i decided no altcoins should i be holding now except the doge i just bough and just USDT.

Yeah, converting assets to USDT is the best option right now. When the bear market is finally here, ETH, Sol and maybe Sui will be my go-to altcoins. Those coins are fully established and they’ve always bounce back during bull run.

Yes, if we are a trader, then what you do is not panic, but relax when facing a market crash like this. And to get profits, usually if the market has really dropped, traders will use a SHORT strategy to get profits from their trading. It is not safe enough to take a LONG position.

But, how much profit you get will vary depending on funds, effort, strategy, and analysis of the market. What is clear is that this is not an easy thing to do.
Yeah..i agree the Short strategy is profitable now and only experienced traders will get it right. This is the best time for newbies to start deep learning about trading entirely.

15
Early this year, my go-to YouTuber for crypto and finance news made a video about upcoming trends that would “take the market by storm”. He mentioned a few narratives like AI, gaming and memes that are frankly old news(and getting tired now) but one stuck with me, tokenizing real-world assets(RWAs).

The idea’s been around for a while now but apart from Etheruem and Solana and maybe Polymesh, I’m yet to see solutions that adhere to traditional finance regulations and with real utilities. The closest I’ve seen is Mantra. They’re fairly new but have already built dApps finance services like lending and borrowing. I hope they bring the web3 we were promised.

Also, do you think it’s still early  to see positive performance from them in this current cycle?

RWAs has the potential to dominate the market even though it may not be this year. I haven’t seen them perform great due to how bearish the market is but i’m positive about it. Memecoins and RWAs aren’t comparable at all, the latter is a promising one with value and utility while the former doesn’t provide value but only make traders money occasionally.
