Sorting Box / Re: Good or bad investment
« on: August 23, 2018, 05:58:42 PM »
Investing is not risky.Investing is fun. Investing can make you vey very rich.
More importantly investing can set us free from the struggle of earning a living and worrying about money. But the question is in crypto-world how can we determine if it is a good or bad investment considering that the price of cryptocurrencies are not stable?

Well... I agree with you, investing can be fun and can even make you rich! But by saying that with investing you have to determine good or bad investments and consider unstable prices you are already describing the risk. So I think it is definetly risky, but there are many factors regarding risk, like how much you invest, how prepared you are and what you invest in. So it seems a bit provocative to me to say investing in general is not risky. But everyone has his or her own definition of risk I guess :)

I have not bought any currencies yet because I am trying to gain more knowledge and expertise before I do. So I am still a little cautious :D But I figured that probably most people started by buying BTC right? But please correct me if I am wrong:) I definetly plan on buying altcoins too, but I am still not sure which I am going to invest in and also how many different coins... If someone has any recommendations for beginners I am happy to hear them!

I think this karma policy is a great way to ensure that the communication in this forum stays peaceful! Members should always tread each other with respect (with or without karma points) but this policy surely keeps negativity in check, so I think it is a great idea:) And I imagine it also keeps away spammers...

I think this is an important topic, especially for new members. It is important to be aware of the possibility that some are not legit... So this thread can be seen as a reminder to be careful and always keep the possibility of scam in mind, there is always a chance for that. So thanks for the reminder to be careful!

Basic Questions about Cryptos / Re: What is Blockchain?
« on: August 02, 2018, 04:45:31 PM »
I am new here and Blockchains seem like a very important but also fascinating topic! As mentioned above Bitcoin and Koban Coin use Blockchain, but do all the cryptotcurrencies use the same Blockchain technology or are there differences (other than Blockchains or types of Blockchain? As a beginner this is not quite clear to me...

As a beginner this video really helped me to overlook the different methods for storing crypto currency! Thanks for sharing - very informative and clear explanation of the different wallet types!

Basic Questions about Cryptos / Re: What is a fork ?
« on: August 02, 2018, 03:43:35 PM »
Thank you for all the explanations above! I am not sure if I got this right, so a fork in general is like an update to the blockchain? And the soft fork means that the old blockchain will remain interacting with the new one (so still one blockchain) but the hard fork means that the new blockchain will be separated from the old outdated one (so it creates two blockchains)?
