Nigerian Languages / Re: Bitcoin as a method of Payment
« on: Today at 05:33:47 AM »
Yes there is a possibility of it becoming a recognized method of payment for both the private and government sectors - but not something that we’re going to see very soon because the current government are not that well equipped with the right knowledge and personnel to help educate them about it; so for the current government we probably should take our mind off of it for now but when we finally gets someone who’s technologically grounded and knows the nitty gritty of this situation and how it can help improve the situation of the economy then we can see possibilities of it happening but for now - I think we should be more focused on Egbado.

What is the meaning of Egbado?
It is the government that is not yet ready to make this move of integrating cryptocurrency or Bitcoin to say as a means of payments for salary earners. Basically, because they have no idea on how it works and are not interested yet to make a technological growth or development. I believe that Nigerians who are technologically inclined and knows this cryptocurrency very well and can teach the so-called leaders on how it works, but the leaders who are self-centered are more interested in what will come out on-top for them.

Until we have a regime that will come to serve the nation and the people in it, we may find it difficult to see positive changes in growth and development in our nations all-round.

2
It’s actually a very good idea to try and make changes to our current education system and include cryptocurrency as part of the curriculum and also other things that have become archaic - but the issue now is that the government are being greedy with salary because I’m sure that anyone who would want to take this class won’t agree with the current teacher salary and that would make them go for quacks like we have in most schools for most courses or lecturers - and in the end it will be the same thing, students will go to school and still not be able to get anything done in the real world.

Yes, the government being greedy won't want to make an increment in the salary of people who will render these services. Those who have the knowledge on things related to cryptocurrency knows the value of what they are about to give out and will require good renumeration from the government. It is in the nature of our educational system that getting the best and paying them well so as to obtain good result is a problem. The world is evolving; we are still stagnant in our educational system.

Bitcoin price is $93,890 and it's hard to predict with certainty whether it will go Below $90 before tomorrow due to the fluctuating price of Bitcoin. What your thought on this.
at least involve a “k” after the amount if you are talking about money here though of course from context clues we can identify what you are talking about but $90 and $90k are very very different

Hilarious, there sure is a difference between $90 and $90k.
So far, we have seen Bitcoin hold above $90k which is a strong support zone, and $96k being the resistance ever since the new green market movement started. The market struggles with its resistance, wanting to break it with all possible means, and if this happens, we will be seeing around the $100k again. If this happens, the market will be flooded again with more price speculation, as we are just in the Q2 of the year.

4
Is it a right thing to teach and impact the knowledge of Bitcoin or cryptocurrencies in the school system of the country or we just have to continue with the already existing methods of going to school and learning same syllabus that has been used for decades, with no new ideas flowing in. With the same mindset of graduating with good grade and working in some big firm, and receiving salary at the end of the day?
In my years in school, I learnt that we are skilled when it comes to technological knowledge, and I am sure it will be something much better for the younger ones still in school and those coming.

What do you take on this?

Nigerian Languages / Bitcoin as a method of Payment
« on: April 30, 2025, 11:32:17 AM »
The world is evolving and only those who decides not to move along with the current trend are the ones left behind. On this, the crypto/digital world has become the order of the day, whereby everyone who knows the value and importance of Bitcoin to financial growth and freedom will want to make their earnings in Bitcoin.

Do you guys think Bitcoin can ever be used as a means of payment in Nigeria for both private and government sectors? Where the employers are aware of the value of Bitcoin and its price fluctuation, or if it is being considered, do you think they will want to make an alternative to Bitcoin and probably make use of USDT, which is a stable coin in other to maintain a steady price that is used on monthly basis?

Will like to hear your contributions on this.

Nigerian Languages / Re: POS Agents and Nigerian Banks
« on: April 30, 2025, 11:18:16 AM »
What do you feel between the POS Agents rendering cash services to the masses of the country and the Banks that has been almost as old as the country giving out the money (or will I say, selling the money to these POS Agents). The country has gone so bad to the point of selling our own money to us, both the banks and these POS Agents are making money with our own money.
I feel this is a planned system of taking more money out of the people of the country, with a disguise of rendering services.

Digital/Crypto currencies as forms of investments/trading, which we have found ourselves here into, at the end of the day, when necessity demands, the need for cash to carryout daily activities is required, and we end up with these two.

Do you think the banks brough this POS as a means of generating more money from the mass or a means of rendering better services?

I would like to hear your take on this.
I don’t think the banks are selling money for the citizens cause they never for once said that the ATM machine won’t bring out cash the POS is just an optional means to get money more faster and quick than bank cause sometimes the queue at bank is something else most especially during month end cause many do receive their monthly allowance. So the POS is optional is either you choose to use them or go to the bank where you can take money without paying any extra cash for paying so it left for him or her to make a choice.
But for real the POS agent are making money but it cause of the economic that even brought about the machine so I don’t blame them after all a man need to survive it better than stealing or fraud. But nowadays they use the pos machine as an act of fraud and scam someone I have been a victim my advise is just make the use of the atm machine so you won’t witness any Discomfort so be safe out there. Stay safe.

Well, the banks won't openly say so, but will like to enquire from you by experience, have you for ones gone to the bank and you want to make withdrawals and you're being told the certain amount that can be dispensed to you, that there is not enough cash available? This issue started during the cashless period we experienced in the country, and which is still on till date in banks. As for the ATM machines, it is only loaded with cash in the morning hours, and at that time, it will be crowded with people, and when the cash is emptied, reloading it up again becomes another problem.

I am not against the POS agents rendering their services, because it was through them, we could get cash during the cashless period, which through them, on several POS points they will say they buy money in the banks to get cash for their work.

The evolution brought about by the Blockchain Technology has made a real time positive impact to the way financial transactions used to be in the early days, and now with the different means of quick transaction confirmation brought about in this space.

A nearer future will make complete use of the blockchain technology for major transaction activities, and might lead to the disease of native banks, otherwise, the banking system will change in years to come. This technology has bridged the gap of international financial transactions and has made worldwide interaction even closer than ever, bringing like-minded people together, sharing ideas and knowledge.
Change from old slow ways to quick confirmations we have now is huge step forward. Blockchain has definitely made financial dealings much faster and simpler. Your idea that we will use blockchain even more for big transactions in near future seems very likely.  It is probable that banks will need to change much to stay important in world where blockchain speed and openness are becoming more and more common.

Also you are right to point out how blockchain has made it easier to do financial transactions between countries. By the way this technology help to connect world more closely making it easy for people all over to interact and share ideas and learn from each other. It is not just about sending money faster it is about bringing people together from all over world.

Yes, this is correct, the blockchain technology has played its own part in making the world a global village, where distance, race or religion is not of any use.
The way of transactions has been improved and with the coming years, new ideas and technologies in the blockchain industry will come, and if the native banking system doesn't work on making development at their end, they will be left behind or struggle to continue with the trend.

The native banks has lots of back-logs on their side, and majority of those back-logs has been fixed in the blockchain industry, which they have not seen yet.

Gambling discussion / Re: Learn to play or it remains luck?
« on: April 30, 2025, 05:44:29 AM »
Gambling is not a skill, therefore, no matter how hard to try to learn it and how experienced that you are, your win still depends on luck and not skill. For every skilled based game, luck is very important to win the game than skill. This is why I don't think that it's important for you to think that you can learn gambling to make profits. Gamble for fun.
Exactly, there is no such strategy in gambling where one can win by applying the strategy. In gambling luck must be given priority. Strategy can be effective for sometimes but not always. If someone wants to increase his skill in gambling and spend a lot of time to win, I think it will not be worthwhile. It is better to leave it to luck and should not expect much.
If you are a professional in poker, your luck would be determined by the cards that you pick when you are playing with a pro like you. However, if you're playing with an amateur is when you can win him as a professional that you are. Online gambling isn't the same because you are playing with the house hedge, where only luck can make you win.

When it is a table rounded with professionals, that is where luck will take a winner, or the kind of cards in possession can make you a winner, which I think is true, as a learner I am (not even up to an amateur). But when a learner/amateur plays with a professional, don't you think luck can still have its way for any of them to win? If the amateur has good cards and the pro doesn't, can the pro still win because he is a pro or luck didn't fall to his side?

If it is on the real-world event, does it take only a pro in poker games to make wins, where tricks and cheats are put together as part of the game techniques?

Gambling discussion / Re: Difference between gambling and trading..
« on: April 29, 2025, 11:41:36 PM »
Trading is knowledge based, without having knowledge on how to use the trading sites/tools available on these sites, you simply can't trade, while on the other hand, gambling is different, as it is solely on luck. Luck runs the gambling sections, there can be some games that one will know so well, and might have received medals for it, but on the play with someone else, who is probably new in the gaming system might become a winner and everything changes.

Gambling requires luck and
Trading requires knowledge, though, there can be some cases where luck will be required to win some big fish.

Gambling discussion / Re: Is gambling acceptable in your country?
« on: April 29, 2025, 11:35:19 PM »
To some points, maybe the country's leaders are trying to protect its citizens from gambling addiction or something related, and that could be the reasons behind the restrictions and ban. Online gambling has made gamblers bye pass some country's rules and restrictions placed on gambling. In my country, it is not restricted by anyone, and for the online gambling, it is free as bird. If not for the recent ban uplift from Bitcoin/Crypto currencies, gambling sites has never faced any form of ban, restriction or regulations before to the little best of my knowledge, related to gambling.
Despite the banning there are still illegal operators continue to spread their gambling business. My country is waging war against these operations and I am okay with that but I am wondering how serious and presice they are when it comes to those who slips from their regulations they should ban all them them but the problem is that they said it could also hurt the government fund because taxes were gone. I don't think it's the government fund that is affected here but it seems politicians also has shares. 😅

Most countries that are more interested in making money from its people will are the ones that will take a look at the taxes these gambling sites are putting into the country's treasury. Politicians always have a part to play in situations like this, while those who made their money with some dirty touch wants the gambling business to continue so as to stay behind the shadows.

Countries that are most and major concern is for the betterment of its citizens will ban gambling or place a big tax fee on them for them to go away or stay and struggle with the levy placed on them.

Is there any gambling games that one can take time to learn and know how it goes to play and make wins, or come out maybe second in a leaderboard (if there is something of such) to take out something after the play or all are tagged to 50/50, either you win or lose everything?

PvP game if I understand what you mean, there are some casinos that support this game.

Or maybe poker as well, you need skills to have some advantage too against your opponents. And there are leaderboards here, specially if you reach the championship run as you could be in the top 10 of that tournament.

I believe the PvP games mean Person vs Person games?
If that is correct, I think Poker is one I know well as a game that multiple people can play, and the winner gets a prize along with those that follows. As in not only the winner goes home with something, but among the top list will take a little of the share. It all summarize on luck, mostly when it comes to online gambling, as those who take the plays on the physical table of gamblers seated, one can make a way out by him/herself.

So far so good, the ending of the month of April has shown some good market moves, though, having a challenge in breaking the current highs of $95,700K. The month is ending tomorrow, and we might still hold in this price range, till next month. $96k is a very strong resistance at this point. For it to be broken, a high demand/buying will be responsible to break that peak, at a price above $96k, we will be seeing around $100k.

I have seen many forex traders (crypto traders are not excluded, of course) venture into opening up physical trading academys. It is almost like the next step for them after establishing that they are now making some profit. Do you think traders who start up trading academys and signal groups are more interested in helping people gain knowledge and make money for themselves than their selfish interest in profiting from these people who come to learn?

I think most start these academy's more as a way to generate funds for themselves to trade with, not really with the intention to help. What do you think?

When a building is rented, money is spent to make possession of the space or building, and that money spent, there is a mindset of regaining it after a while (or within a year, cause rent will be renewed). If a land is bought for sell purpose, it will be for building a home for the family, otherwise it is for business. Every mindset behind any business is to make/generate profit.

The successful traders are giving out educational services, and which is not free, mostly when it comes to money. Before learning, one must pay, those teaching has it at the back of their mind that they will receive payment either at the end of the month or at the end of the lecture.

So, it is all about making more money, though rendering services. After every service, payment must be made for services rendered.

The method of leadership in Nigeria is something else. It is a good thing for a government to be criticized in the areas they are not performing well, so that they can look at that loophole and fix it, but the reverse is the case for the said leaders of the country. When there is a cry from the masses, they claim deaf ears. Unemployment, inflation in the price of commodities, little to no exportation etc. can all add together to affect the decline of a country's currency value. These are things which I am sure the leaders are aware of and knows how to control or tackle the situation, but rather, they prefer to use it as an advantage to take and eat alone.

Until they decide as leaders to take Nigeria to a better level, there is nothing that may change in the country's economy.
