Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: Do we really need stable coins?
« on: February 21, 2020, 05:27:22 PM »
Stablecoins are fine only when it's temporary and they aren't able to fill the gap between crypto and fiat money when it comes to the adaption or global usage - not a single cryptocurrency is able to do this, so I'll wait for something new to come up in the next decades, a new 'thing' maybe based on blockchain too, something that'll be able to fully replace fiat currencies.

Really interesting news - it shows how simple cases blockchain can handle. As a child I was collecting panini cards with football players and exchanged with my friends in school, or even traded it for money or for favors. It's a nice thing to see such project, it brings memories.

Libra's has been failing me since the project has been announced, hope it never witness daylight. With such breaches, Facebook won't ever be able to stabilize the situation of their coin project and honestly I think that even though the critical point seems to be very near for Libra, it will survive because of the amount of money and time invested in it.

Everytime those "next year" or "next decade" predictions aren't delivering for many and on the other hand for some the expectations are fulfiled handsomely like with mentioned here Bakkt. The most interesting things will happen in the next years, 2019 has been somewhat stagnant for me - nothing unusual happened, I didn't move my assets a lot, but it's true - it's been a better year than 2018 definitely. It's all just the prelude to the massive adaption of cryptocurrencies, I just hope it will happen very soon. The thing that worries me is increasing number of hacks, thefts and hoaxes, hope 2020 will deliver some solutions there.
