Spread out your investment say 60% in BTC ETH
20% in Defi projects and the rest Metaverse projects like SAND AX AXS . That's my personal opinion not financial advice 😉

Like have you invested in Crypto at all ? It's such a broad subject that telling you what to invest in will only leave you clueless holding coins you don't understand much about.  Take your time learning and to start of just invest in thr big boys BTC ETH dip your toes so to speak

Great question and my own opinion or strategy rather is 60% in blue-chip coins,  BTC LTC ADA
20% Defi and the rest in Metaverse linked tokens .

The simplest advice I would give is 50% in blue-chip coins BTC ETH ADA , then 25% Defi and the rest on low cap upcoming tokens to try and get some short/mid term gains

Chain just has the usability and ease of use that I like . Fees can be a tad high but I offset this with convenience a small price to pay

Do both if your comfortable with trading in other markets , FX Indices Metals etc.
It will be more volatile of course that's why it's better to hold also . Have your blue-chip coins,  BTC ETH ADA and 25% in projects you think might moon also 😉

If you already have experience in trading Forex or Stocks your halfway there .
It's more volatile so use a demo account to get used to the swings .
As for holding just dint use the rent money and don't buy the highs wait for a significant pullback
