They can, but they'll likely end up blowing their account because beginners don't know about risk management.

The more that happens though, the quicker they'll learn and they'll develop as a trader through that experience.

I think beginners should jump right in, but only using very small amounts they can afford to lose. That's the quickest way to learn anything.. via your mistakes.
