Bitcoin Forum / Re: Two ATH in same year?
« on: November 15, 2024, 05:14:56 PM »
Has the crypto market ever experienced a massive TWO ATH of this effect ever since that of 2017?
How do you define new ATH? I mean, every time bitcoin price goes up above the previous highest one, it reaches new ATH meaning we went through God knows how many this year. So, my answer for you is yes, as it happens during every bull run.

The Trump effect on BTC that we have experienced so far, what will be the effect of he is out of the presidential seat?[/b]
Bitcoin would go up whether Trump was elected or not, and it will go eventually go down no matter how long he stays president. In short, I wouldn't worry about Bitcoin once he is not the president.

Because if the price of bitcoin crushes, investors will turn to altcoins.
Doesn't it go the other way around, as when bitcoin price goes down, altcoin price goes down even more, which then results in people selling their alts and going into bitcoin (which is safer place to be during bear market)?

Unless I completely misunderstood you and by "crush" you mean bitcoin price going up, like its happening now.

Also it came in the name of IEO (Initial Exchange Offering) which was pretty big after ICO era but I don't think any of them were popular or consider even in 2024.
Ah yes you are right, I completely forgot about IEOs. I think I even joined few of those on Binance as at one point I had some BNB so why not joining.  ;)

Also myself never fan of these presale tokens because those are only created with the intention of dumping even by the devs once it reaches the marketplace so it's a big gamble always to invest.
I know some people that made nice amount of money by investing in private sales, meaning getting tokens at the huge discount and then immediuately dumping on the suckers who buy them when listed.

Which was popular until 2018 and after that almost 99.9% ICOs are meant for scam.
It was popular later on as well, its just that it kept changing names.

After ICO we got STO (when security tokens got more popular) and after that we got IDO (Initial Dex Offerings) which was popular until recently, but with alts still underperforming they are nowhere as popular as they used to be few years ago, back in 2021.

Crypto Wallets / Re: Are you using Hardware Wallets?
« on: November 08, 2024, 03:41:42 PM »
I'm not a hardware wallet user myself, but I think Ledger is definitely one of the best out there.
They were the most popular one, but their reputation (at least among those who know about the subject) is ruined.

even though they had that pretty weird idea about centralized private key storage.
+all the lying.

Still, they've managed to keep a lot of users' trust.
I think its more about the fact that people don't really foillow the subject closely and they have no idea what's going on. They bought Ledger, sent their crypto there and forgot about it.

Display is dim along with dead pixels, so camera thingy doesn't work. I have watched videos on YT about replacing it, and it rather seems simple on first glance, hopefully I will be able to do it, once I receive it.
Maye I ask why even bother with replacing the Ledger screen?

Given all their issues and lies in the last few years, wouldn't the failing Ledger be a perfect excuse for getting something better?

Crypto Wallets / Re: Why we don't have better wallets for altcoins?
« on: November 04, 2024, 03:43:51 PM »

What about the TRUST wallet?
With the word TRUST on it, it seems trustworthy already alter and it's owned by the most trusted binance exchange.
I wouldn't trust with anything that is controlled by Binance for any other thing other than short term hodl of few hundreds of dollars worth of crypto.

regarding the "trust" in the name of the wallet, all i have to say is "don't trust, verify".  :)

Crypto Wallets / Re: HODLers, do you use paper wallets?
« on: November 04, 2024, 03:39:40 PM »
Nope, and I never even thought about creating one (well, I thought, but not seriously).

Thing is, hardware wallets are so easily available and affordable that I personally see no need of creating one. I do understand that paper wallets can be very safe if done properly, but I guess I am just too lazy to make one.  ;)

Many articles I've read recommend paper wallets because they allow you to store your keys offline.
Paper wallets are indeed a good option, but problem is that its not an easy thing to properly make a safe paper wallet and due that its not for everyone. That's why it is no so improtant and people rather use hardware wallets for their cold storage.

With paper wallets' biggest drawbacks of loss and damage, will you continue to use them
Well, same thing can happen to hardware wallet too, for example in the case of fire, floor or some other similar type of disaster.

Binance always listed basically every token, no matter the quality of the project.
People keep forgetting that exchanges are businesses and they care mainly about the profit. And if you want to be picky, chances are that other exchanges will take part of your customers.

Coinbase used to be picky in the past, and now they are listing all kind of shitcoins as long as there is a demand.

Basic Questions about Cryptos / Re: Which Alt coins you are holding?
« on: October 03, 2024, 07:45:16 PM »
At the moment I have a little bit of ETH and some BNB left from the time I used Binance Visa card so i had to hold 1 BNB in order to reach 2% cashback+ all the cashback I earned during few years of using the card.

Having said that, like 95% (probably even more but I am not sure as I don't check my cold storage often) of my portfolio is in BTC so amount of ETH and BNB I have is quite low.

Cryptocurrency Price Speculations / Re: Bitcoin's price in October 2024
« on: October 03, 2024, 07:37:06 PM »
Is this a price correction or we may see another dip that might be more intense then the current one?
Dunno, these small corrections doesn't seem something that we should worry about.

In general, I think that people should obsess less with the short term prices because more often than not it can bring them disappointment. Then again, maybe those who are controlling the market are surpressing the bitcoin price on purpose, because everyone is expecting the pump. So after longs are liquidated, they can start with the pump.

Is it just me that's a little bit skeptical about the Op's choice of words?
I've seen in other places "software wallet" term being used, so OP is not the only one and by that they simply mean a wallet that is not a hardware wallet.

But yeah, I agree that "hot wallet" seems like a more apropriate wording.

Maybe he performed operation in prison...
Or maybe he feels more feminine now, after close encounters with other males in the shower.  ;D

In other news, CZ is set to be released from prison on September 29th

Binance founder Changpeng “CZ” Zhao, who is currently serving a four-month prison sentence, will be a free man by the end of the month.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Prisons website, Zhao – also known as inmate 88087-510 –

will be released from custody on Sept. 29, 118 days after reporting to a low-security prison, Lompoc II, on California’s central coast. He spent three months in Lompoc II before being moved to a halfway house in San Pedro, California in late August.

Zhao was sentenced to four months in prison in April, five months after he pleaded guilty to violating the Bank Secrecy Act by failing to set up an adequate know-your-customer (KYC) program at Binance. As part of his guilty plea, Zhao also agreed to pay a $50 million fine and step down as CEO of the crypto exchange.
