Gambling discussion / Re: [NBA] Unofficial Discussion Thread

It's ok now mate, however, I wasn't able to make a bet because of that error and missed a opportunity to bet on the Warriors at -3.5 at that is what I'm seeing in this game.  :(

Congrats though, Warriors already winning this one, room service coming from Payton and Buddy Hield. They extended the series and with that, Butler can still rest and not necessarily for him to make a comeback.

I didn't place any bet on that game simply because Jimmy Butler was shutdown for the game by the Warriors and to be honest half way through the first half Warriors looked like they were heading for a serious beating, they were struggling pretty badly, they couldn't score and their offense couldn't find any sort of rhythm luckily for them they were able to turn it around in the 2nd half. Now they're in a good spot with the win.

I was able to get a chance to only bet two of the games as some of them are too early for our timezone,

Fortunately, I got +10.5 on Magic against the Celtics early on the first quarter. And then I go with the underdog Pacers against the Bucks. Felt sorry though for Dame as he looks like it's another season ending injury for him and it could be worst.

I haven't a bet yet, but I might go with the Warriors again -2.5 and Cavs -7.5.

Basic Questions about Cryptos / Re: Altcoins Discussion
« on: April 27, 2025, 10:28:33 AM »
Sorry about what happened to you, of course. It is very painful, and you can't imagine how sad it is to invest even in research, but the results are very disappointing, and I think you are not the only one who experienced it, but many also experienced the same as you, and it's hard to imagine that after research, but the results are not in accordance with the expectations that we want, you are right that not all altcoins are the same and research can be different.
Altcoins are generally risky, and research alone isn't enough for one to stay profitable in trading them, and it also depends on what kind of altcoins one is trading in because even a meme coin or a shit coin can basically be called an altcoin but they are risker by nature because they don't have a purpose or a project backing them up but they are only created for fun based on popular memes or nowadays famous people as well such as Elon Musk or Donald Trump, etc.

So, one's profitability in trading also depends on what cryptocurrencies they choose to trade because their risk-to-reward ratio will differ based on their choices. In normal altcoins, the risks are lower and so are the rewards, mostly, and in shit coins or meme coins, the risks are higher but so are the rewards. That's why, it's important for a person to know all these things before they start doing it. :)
For new altcoin projects, I totally agree that what you said about being very risky is a reality and cannot be avoided. That's why many people really don't like every new project that appears, because it will never give a good contribution to its holders. Maybe until now, and it hasn't been able to return to its glory days.
But there are altcoins that have been around for a long time and, until now, are included in potential coins and I think it's okay if you want to invest in them because, so far, they have made a good contribution and have proven to be very good for their holders.

Or if you are going to look at this way, the altcoin market is already saturated, that's why new projects that might come in doesn't have anything to offer except for pump and ump.

Although there could still be good projects along the way, but it's very hard to find and to filter with hundreds of them coming out and there are no single platform that you can see all of this new projects.

@bisdak40 - have you encountered this in our local sport bookies? I was surprised to see this when I try to look at the odds and maybe put some early bets.

Are they trying to ban me? Lol.

Experience this once in a while mate but i will just restart my app and everything will be okay once again.

For today's game, i will be backing the Warriors [email protected] in their homecourt against the Rockets, haven't read anything about Jimmy Butler but i hope he will be playing today.

In the Biden administration it certainly wouldn't be allowed
It is very obvious what the Biden administration thought about BTC and crypto, they wanted to impose as many regulations as possible and that affects the network negatively. Trump's administration has done a few things better, that does not mean Trump has not made bad decisions, like launching a shit memecoin, but his administration looks like it will treat crypto better.

Lesser of  two evil? It's better that crypto is under Trump than Biden. I do agree that they he somewhat played us all and make fun when he and his family launches those meme coins.

But at the end of the day, if he is going to be pro-crypto then it will be good for us. Specially that he will be in the office for the next 4 years, many current and upcoming project should take advantage of it as it will be a welcoming and new breath of fresh air from regulators.

Very entertaining fight, but Eubank Jr is really too big for Benn here. You can see that at least Eubank Jr is two weight class above Benn and with that, he just dominated the fight.

There is a rematch clause though, so for sure Benn might exercise it but the result might be the same as again, he is too small . On the meantime though, Canelo is watching and probably Eubank could be next for him.

Most of us here are expecting the alts season and I am one of them and probably you too, then it is too early for what some think that we are going back to the bear market to happen, we are only in the first quarter of this year and then it is said to be a bear run again.

And we also saw it in the poll done by the author of this topic, right? So I mean, it really hasn't happened yet because we haven't seen anything in the crypto
news updates that is in this bear market.
Even there was lots of confusion about the market but still market is on the good condition right now it is still on the 95k and creating some stability around it and I think which will create a good support for making more pump. Now we have nothing to do for just waiting. Even market is on the greenline I won't say anyone to make any decision right now I will stay claim to see more. But till now I am hoping for something.

We are talking about altcoin market though, so for Bitcoin to hit $95k, then it's good as it has been decoupling from the altcoin market. Most of the altcoins are still bleeding even if Bitcoin has reach all time high.

With that, chances are very slim for them to make their own run. Although I still wanted to think that in the last quarter, I do hope that altcoins will have it's version of a bull run to end the cycle.

It is Bitcoin and other top altcoins that you will hodl, you won't feel panic about the market when it is on the downside because you truly believe that the market will bounce back in a matter of time, it is just about being patient, and trusting the process that you will recover from your losses if you refuse to sell your holdings.q
I believe before anyone goes Into investment they should understand the kind of asset they are investing on so that they wouldn't be that panicking when the market drops or changes in percentage, usually if investing in Bitcoin we should know that Bitcoin is for long term investment couples with its volatility. So someone investing in such coin should be aware of the market manipulation, volatile and sudden drop so they should be able to hold or keeps doing DCA to increase their portfolio.
I think everyone who is in investment will go through a phase where they will panic when the market is not doing well. That is a very natural thing because it is our first experience.

Yes, at least in my case, I also panic and just sold when I was early in the crypto sphere specially in Bitcoin. So I have lost a lot of potential profit but still good experience for me.

Well from there we can learn for the future where when the market is not doing well we have to maintain our own situation so as not to panic and if we are used to it then it will go away by itself, the point here is that experience will teach us a lesson.

And then after we learn not to panic, the next best thing is to really buy and DCA and then HODL. Sometimes it's really good to have this kind of experience to panic so that after that, we learn from it and then not repeating the same mistakes.

May time limit yung delay o ceasefire niya sa tariff war.

Or baka sideways muna around $90k-$95k baka magkaroon ng bagong breakout. Pero goods na rin naman tayo sa ngayon at may +14% na itinaas tayo for this month, currently.

Moving forward though, I'm thinking that the whole crypto picture in the US will be co-terminous with the sitting President itself. Just like before with Biden administration, they are against crypto so Feds and banks are against any crypto transaction.

And now that Trump is the sitting president and his administration is pro-crypto then we will see some acceptance from any government agencies with regards to crypto base services and transactions.

Gambling discussion / Re: Is gambling acceptable in your country?
« on: April 26, 2025, 11:41:25 AM »
To some points, maybe the country's leaders are trying to protect its citizens from gambling addiction or something related, and that could be the reasons behind the restrictions and ban. Online gambling has made gamblers bye pass some country's rules and restrictions placed on gambling. In my country, it is not restricted by anyone, and for the online gambling, it is free as bird. If not for the recent ban uplift from Bitcoin/Crypto currencies, gambling sites has never faced any form of ban, restriction or regulations before to the little best of my knowledge, related to gambling.
Despite the banning there are still illegal operators continue to spread their gambling business. My country is waging war against these operations and I am okay with that but I am wondering how serious and presice they are when it comes to those who slips from their regulations they should ban all them them but the problem is that they said it could also hurt the government fund because taxes were gone. I don't think it's the government fund that is affected here but it seems politicians also has shares. 😅
In this case the problem is not a simple one. On the one hand, the fight against the further development of illicit gambling is the correct decision to reduce the negative consequences of such activity. And, just for the lost tax motives, as if such gambling operations have to be kept, I believe that is the wrong rationale. If there are politicians involved or even having some shares in this business, it is apparent to infringe the public policy because it vitiates the credibility of the politicians. Policies on political and business circles should not be just economic in nature, law making bodies and individuals in society must also be ever determined to eradicate the evils concerning legal gambling, and the policies set must indeed should mean business for the goodness of society.

It's simply, don't be a corrupt official, like mayors and governors and police and this illegal gambling could be eradicated in our country. The thing is that they are the protector and they are in the payroll of this crime syndicates.

And with that, no one will be arrested, except for the small fish. But the operator behind can't be touch by the police because of the protection by the higher ups including generals.

What happened to Ja Morant though?

Was busy yesterday that I was just glimpsing on the score and was surprised that they have a good lead and then suddenly the Thunder comes back and win this game again.

He was undercut by Lugentz Dort while trying probably to attack the rim, I know Dort have a penchant for hard fouls/plays but to be very candid he slipped and was only trying to make play on the play, it was indeed a hard fall for Ja Morant and it was pretty obvious he was in pain after the fall, but at the same time, it doesn’t seem like an intentional move, rather an unfortunate one…

+ 1

Thanks mate, I was really out the whole day yesterday and was not able to even bet as I was busy in real life.

Navarette is really a hard puncher, I'm thinking that this could be similar to Inoue vs Tapales fight (another Filipino). Tapales was really strong and wanted to pull an upset, but Inoue accurate punching really take a toll on Tapales as he was knockout. So maybe in the first couple of rounds, Suarez is a willing opponent that will engage Navarette, but once he taste his power, he will be soften up and this might not last the full 12 rounds.

In his 39 wins, 32 of that were coming by knockout so yeah we can consider Emmanuel Navarrete a knock-out artist and i would not be surprise if Charly Suarez will not go the distance but as a Filipino i would bet that Suarez will go toe-to-toe and finish the fight standing. No other options yet in the bookies but if the odds for the fight to go the full twelve rounds then i might pull the trigger on that option.

Yeah, that's the blood of a warrior too for Filipinos as they will go out in everything and will give their best even if they are going to lose that fight. I don't know mate if you have seen "Bad Boy from Dadiangas" Rolando Navarette (not related to Emmanuel obviously). But when I saw his fights in the TV in the mid 80's he was the epitome of a Filipino Warrior.  :). He was Manny before Manny Pacquiao was big for us.

OKC have literally just tied the game against Memphis Grizzlies, a game in which the Grizzlies had a 29 point lead. Memphis Grizzlies have got to find a way to win this game without Ja Morant who is now ruled of the game because they can't comeback from a 0-3 series deficit.

And the Grizzlies lost the game. Just like how the Warriors missed Jimmy Butler, the Grizzlies also missed Ja Morant in the last two quarters. Now, this series is looking a sweep at least for me as the morale of the Grizzlies is too low right now, leading by as mush as 30 points then lost at the end.

What happened to Ja Morant though?

In 2014, I have earn some Bitcoins, so I created a paper address that time, but I forget to move them but I keep my paper wallet. And then in 2017, I remember it and so when I get back to see, there's none only the addresses.
~snip~

What do you mean none only the addresses?
Are all funds from your backup gone? It seems similar to mine, actually, I've been holding mine since 2015 until 2020. Around that year I saw the momentum in BTC—no downfall; it keeps increasing. That is why I checked my old hard drive where I save my offline backups, but after opening it and checking the address on an online PC, I saw nothing in my wallet. I can't remember if I already withdrew my balance, but I believe I never touched my funds there since 2015.
So I missed that opportunity to sell last 2021, when the BTC reached the new ATH and it was pandemic time. I regret holding it. I should transfer them into a much safer wallet generated from the Bitcoin Core wallet than any 3rd-party wallet.

Let me say that someone has paid me for my services with Bitcoin that year. But after the job is done, they ask me to create a Bitcoin address so I did that. But then I forget to move that Bitcoin in a address that I have total control because the payment is in a 3rd party, like a exchange. And so with that 3rd party changing hands or the business model has change, new owners and everything, I didn't withdraw my funds their until that sudden changes and so everything is lost. I still clinging on that I might have move in so I go and did check the Bitcoin address that I created but there's none. So obviously, it's a silly decision for me not to move it to a wallet that I have control because that time, I still didn't know about Bitcoin. I just took the job as a sort of experiment because it's easy one.
