Other Popular Cryptos / Coins / Tether/Bitcoin via HodlHodl
« on: January 06, 2025, 11:05:30 PM »
I was looking to trade some Bitcoin into Tether today using the HodlHodl platform, First time trading that pair but I noticed all the other sellers were taking a hit on the trade by as much as -10%.

Can anyone explain why they were taking the hit just to get Tether?

Privacy Coins Forum / Re: Will privacy coins survive?
« on: January 05, 2025, 10:19:57 PM »
I love how some say well doesn't matter what the government does, investors will still...

Have you actually taken a look at what investors think of privacy coins?
Monero is just below $200 , it was over $500 the last bull run, the other two are not even worth counting, Monero had 20k transactions yesterday, there are single Walmarts superstores that get more clients in a day.

Millionsn are doing KYC one every shady 4exchnge for some $5 and some are still delusional that the masses care about privacy, well, newsflash, average Joe doesn't care!

I suppose the privacy coins do have a degree of usefullness so I guess anyone who wants to use or is interested are already invested but for tearing away everyone else from their speculative altcoins its probably not going to happen unfortunately.

So I guess they will survive as a utility coin rather than something people will expect to make massive profits from.

Other Popular Cryptos / Coins / Re: How far would you go for cheap fees?
« on: January 05, 2025, 10:02:46 AM »
I'm not a fan a hater of telegram, been there, stopped using and deleted the app so no amount of discounts will entice me to go there again for cheaper fees on anything.

I'm not up to speed with Telegram so I dont know the relationship between it and cheaper fees, Using the Litecoin network for cheaper fees is the way to go.

Suggestion Box / Re: Discussion about Altcoins Talks Shop
« on: January 05, 2025, 09:49:38 AM »

Over all, I find the ability for users to pay for some special features on this forum a good thing, as it will help the forum (directly or indirectly) generate funds so as to keep improving the forum and also build more features, services and products, and also marketing as well, but  I am suggesting that the admin review the features that are to be paid for, some of the features currently listed are supposed to be basic features that should require no payment to access or be used.

I agree with this view. I came to this agreement after reading about the new shop.

At first I thought the shop was about buying and selling general goods and services like a laptop ot something else but when I found out it is just for "badges""rankings"and features on the forum I was disappointed.

Personally I'm not here on the forum to grow my profile necessarily and badges dont motivate me but I do see the merit of the shop in generating interest and revenue because most people are highly motivated by rank and badges.

Economics , Sociology & Politics / Re: Fear of nuclear war
« on: January 03, 2025, 06:13:40 PM »
The war between Russia and Ukraine has been going on for more than 1000 days and both sides are spending a lot of money on it and as a result, innocent people are losing their lives and fighters are being killed. In fact, war does not bring any benefit to humanity, yet the world is trying to find a solution through mutual war.
NATO is constantly providing financial and military assistance to Ukraine and Russia is demonstrating its strength with a single effort and is suffering a lot financially and militarily by waging a long-term war.

If Russia, which is facing financial and military losses due to waging a long-term war, gets annoyed and uses nuclear weapons, what effect could it have on the world ?

World peace is seriously threatened by the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, and I continue to be shocked that the UN is doing nothing to halt it. The war's occurrence demonstrates the UN's incapacity to follow through on its promise of global peace. The United Nations Security Council was supposed to take early action, but regrettably, nothing has been done.

This disregard demonstrates the high degree of politics that exist within the UN as well as the organization's lack of a standing army. Because some member states may not want to allow their military to participate in the peacekeeping effort when wars are raging in certain countries, the United Nations' ability to control wars has been undermined by its reliance on its members' armed forces.

I wonder though if the UN are afraid to get heave handed with Russia in case they start using Nuclear Bombs?

AminI afraid of Nuclear war? yes but I dont think about it because its out of my control.

Litecoin Forum / Re: Do you noticed any increase in litecoin?
« on: January 03, 2025, 10:40:46 AM »
Its funny how Litecoin is not in more peoples portfolio, it has all the same features and benefits that Bitcoin has.

Secure POW mining
Limited to 84,000,000
Gets nearly all the same upgrades which Bitcoin does
Still being developed

from a transactional point of view it has faster block times and cheap trans fees.

Its just that many people in speculation mode can see big rewards from investing in Litecoin.

I've been in the crypto market since 2017 and have had more losses than gains from my investments. I've been able to stay in this market thanks to my freelance income from translating documents and news updates for various projects. The losses I experienced during the 2017 and 2021 bear markets motivated me to start DCA crypto throughout 2022, 2023, and 2024.

I would like to know your opinion on this issue:
  • Have you ever applied the DCA strategy in the crypto market?
  • Do you think investors should stop DCA BTC to DCA altcoins with the expectation of making bigger profits in the 2025 altseason?
  • Do you often refer to the opinions of experienced traders on the internet to adjust your crypto investment strategy?

I would say historically you have made more losses because you have not had enough Bitcoin in your portfolio.

So I would suggest to DCA into Bitcoin above Altcoins.

I also would have thought that there is no need to DCA into Altcoins because they are all so affordable you can just buy whole Altcoins.

I think DCA is suited more to Bitcoin because its almost impossible to buy whole Bitcoins now.

Bitcoin Forum / Re: Bitcoin in 2025...what is your prediction?
« on: December 27, 2024, 09:22:02 AM »
The same prediction as well, I'm looking at $150k-$180k, and but stretch maybe gaining to $200k.

There could be still be a lot of happenings in 2025 that is very positive that can impact the price to reach that kind of levels. And we all know that Trump will sit next year so there's a lot of hope that he will be very friendly to crypto in general.

well i think if and when the US start buying Bitcoin there are many other countries which will follow the US lead and will not want to be left behind. This can only put pressure on the price and drive it up. Thats why I am predicting higher than $200k

Very difficult to predict this as nobody can tell the future and there are too many actors now in the Bitcoin scene all realising its potential and turning from a negative outlook to a positive one.

I'm simply going to predict a more than doubling of the current milestone of $100,000

I'm going with $250,000

I dont see the risk if you are willing to have a long term or possibly even a medium term outlook of minimum 3 to 4 years.

Its not going to zero, and medium to long term its going up same as the last 14/15 years.

I use CMC occasionally but only to check the losition of a coin in terms of its market cap and its position on that chart but a coins market cap isnt really an important piece of information.

CMC is also handy as someone posted for a coins overview.

Litecoin Forum / Re: What do you think
« on: December 22, 2024, 11:21:24 PM »
it used to be number 3 on coinmarketcap so #50 is dissapointing. There are so many more options for people ever since Charlie sold his coins and ERC tokens became a thing. Question is will it gain more favour in the future?
It's like history, Litecoin, an old coin, which used to compete with Ethereum in the top market cap. But in the end, the strong survive, and those who do not provide progress and development according to their time and era, will drop. It is still very lucky if LTC is still on the market. because its development is really not visible. But fortunately for now, LTC's position has risen enough and entered the top 23, yes even though this is still quite low, but at least, there is an increase in the price and also the market cap of LTC, this might be a good sign but, is it possible for Litecoin to return to the top 10 at least at the peak of the bullish altcoin season later?

Imagine Litecoin back in the top 10? it would be brilliant, being it back into the limelight but it will be a big struggle because as we know the Bull Market affects nearly all top coins.

Bitcoin Forum / Re: Can Bitcoin surpass Gold in utilization?
« on: December 22, 2024, 04:02:23 PM »
Doesnt Michael Saylor say that Bitcoin will overtake Gold in the near future and indeed when governments start opting for it over Gold and further start swapping Gold for it we will see Bitcoin surpass Gold.

It could end up being like an avalanche where Gold collapses
