Bitcoin is a store of value and it can be used for long term investment unlike altcoins which are proving not to be a store of value. Altcoins are not getting to all-time high is the problem people should not invest in them in long term. Even Ethereum did not get to all-time high in this bull season.

Some exchanges, especially some bitcoin exchanges were closed down not because they do not have customers anymore but because of government telling them to begin KYC or they should close down.

See what happened to eXch recently. It closed some not because he is not having customers anymore but because of regulation.

But it is true that most exchanges, especially altcoins exchanges should make sure they adapt. They should also satisfy their customers.

Gambling discussion / Re: How often do you refill your gambling budget
« on: April 26, 2025, 11:39:52 PM »
Just like I have posted several times, I use 1% of my weekly budget to gamble. If it is more than that, I make sure that I do not gamble until it is up to or less than 1% of my weekly budget. I am not also a frequent gambler for this reason. I have control over it also.

binary trading i think is going to take time for you to learn and keep winning. its sure like trading of course but then this will make you learn how to trade and at  the same time learn to bet on where the trend goes at period of time.
I have not heard of binary trading before. I guess you mean binary option which is not trading but similar more to gambling and not hard to learn. It is not very easy in making money and it can be more of losses. That is the reason some gambling sites have it on their platform.

Bitcoin Forum / Re: Secure BIP 39 seed generation
« on: April 24, 2025, 06:43:41 PM »
The safest way I know now is to generate seed from Tails OS that is run on the USB stick, so it has no contact to hard drive. Tails has Electrum wallet by default, so you don't need to connect your computer to Internet.
As long as the device stays offline, the OS does not matter. Just do not go online but use it as a permanent cold wallet.

Although, I recommend Tails and Linux.

You can generate the seed phrase on wallet like Sparrow. It is a BIP39 wallet.

Learn from your mistakes is the best teacher. If you are trading, you will understand what I mean.

Do not use more than 1% to 5% of your income to trade. Do not use too much leverage. Avoid martingale.

If you have been trading for like one or two years and you are still losing, quit. Do not trade anymore.

I do not like the idea but I think they are looking for ways to ditch dollar to avoid, reduce or eliminate sanctions. The exchanges are not just for ordinary people but for rich men that has huge amount of money. They want to use it as a means to know how to control the use of cryptocurrencies in the country.

But I do not like the idea of government-owned crypto exchanges.

First on the table, I don't see this possibility coming into reality in my lifetime as it is normal for any government not to have anything to do with cryptocurrency as a participant in doing business and I know that if the government is going to be involved it would just be a big mess.
Russian central bank is planning to do something like that with the finance ministry but not to all investors but to some investors that has huge amount of money and that meet the criteria needed. I think OP asked the question because he has heard about the Russian government making such move.

many coins' value rising does not mean that the regulation was kind to them many projects were investigated by the sec and was targeted and let us be honest the regulations around crypto is still lacking and gensler did not exactly do anything to bridge the lack of certainty in the crypto regulations
I do not see what he did bad because securities supposed to be treated as securities. Although cryptocurrencies are still under-regulates.

His truthful nature makes many people hated him.

“This asset class is rife with fraud, scams, and abuse in certain applications,” he said in a speech at the Aspen Security Forum. “There’s a great deal of hype and spin about how crypto assets work."

is this the truth exactly about crypto?
Yes, it is true. You posted yourself that regulation is still lacking and even Gary Gensler was unable to solve it.

Good to see that he is no more just the acting but now the SEC chair.

So if there is one message you wanna deliver to Paul, what would it be?
This is it what I should not let him know because it is clear that most cryptocurrencies are securities. They should not try to fool people that they are commodities. I like the fact already that he knows already that bitcoin and those coins with PoW algorithms are commodities but those coins with ICOs and PoS are securities.

These are some of the irregularities that characterized the previous SEC administration lead by Gary Gensler, he made some ambiguous security concerns and had caused many law suit with several crypto companies.
Honestly, he failed on his duty as the SEC chairman and many crypto enthusiast were so disappointed during his tenure. in fact, he was anti crypto, and so many decisions he took were unpleasant to the crypto economic developments. I think that his resignation as the SEC chairman was a welcome development because he was just anti crypto and had a lot of unnecessary Court cases like the Ripple (Xrp) that was recently closed.
So are you implying that those coins with PoS are commodities?

Those people only care about themselves. There are many coins that rose during Gary Gensler time in office. I do not care about any coin as long as bitcoin is increasing in value and adoption. Bitcoin also increased during his time. He approved bitcoin and ethereum ETF.

His truthful nature makes many people hated him.

Forum related / Re: Connection timeout
« on: April 23, 2025, 09:57:09 PM »
Using VPN on your computer but why not also try it with VPN on your phone? Know that clearing data was not the reason you later were able to access the site. The problem is from this forum and it can happen in a way that mobile phone is disabled but desktop is enabled. Try to switch to desktop mode on your phone browser if something like this happened again and I think it would work as long as it worked on your computer.

Or the use of VPN can also solve the issue if your country IP is blocked. It can also be just the mobile connection to the site that is blocked but which VPN can solve.

In my opinion, i think social media is one of the reasons why users don’t seek crypto knowledge like they should. Most new users think crypto is all about trading memes. In your opinion, what do you think of the impact of social media in crypto ?
Meme coins are what that were in vogue during this season altseason. Some people traded it and make money but more people traded it and lose money. It even encourages manipulation as I was seeing many tokens manipulations even till now. You said social media. People talk about what is in vogue on social media and other people will join. We do not know what next altcoins would be about. In the last season, it was NFTs. This season was meme coins. Let us wait for next season and see what would be in vogue for manipulation that will make newbies lose again.

I prefer to go for a single match. Not more than 3 matches if I go for parley. After a single match, I bet most on two matches in parley but sometimes on three matches. I use 1% of my income to bet. If I use more than that, I will wait until it amounts to 1%.

Bitcoin Forum / Re: BTC playing tricks.
« on: April 23, 2025, 09:19:23 AM »
All I still think is the that the bull market is not over and we are still going to all-time high. Even if bitcoin get to $103000 and fall back, that does not mean it will not still rise again. Bitcoin has been a very good asset that someone can hold for long.

Bitcoin Forum / Re: bitcoin back at rising again
« on: April 22, 2025, 01:47:00 PM »
This is what we are expecting but bitcoin is not going above $89000 and which might cause a little drawdown. All I think is that the drawdown can not be massive before bitcoin will later go above $90000 again.

I think bitcoin will increase above $90000 but I do not know when that will happen. This is not a good time to sell bitcoin but to hold it.
