I just read recently that a company invested a whopping 30 million into TON here and this is very positive news IMO.

TON is finally getting more name and recognition due to the emergence of telegram games recently but I think all the top dogs in the market are starting to see the potential and future of TON also

Other Popular Cryptos / Coins / Is web3 just a short time buzz?
« on: September 16, 2024, 07:06:39 PM »
Web3 over the past 4 to 5 years has been introduced to a wide variety of things including web3 versions of platforms like YouTube, Twitter, Pinterest, and other popular platforms. The web3 versions usually boast full decentralization and the users fully owning their asset on this platforms but one slight problem is I barely use any of this web3 dupe platforms.

Why did I bring this up? It's because I saw the listing announcement for the token of a web3 platform that was launched in 2021 and is supposedly the web3 platform of weChat for all form of communication. I never actually knew DeBox actually existed and this just proves my point, most of this web3 platform were just a buzz for a while and the majority don't actually use them

Do you guys have any good experience with this web3 platforms?

Crypto Exchanges / How important is transparency in crypto
« on: September 13, 2024, 11:43:57 AM »
These days, murky marketing and shady statistics are now the hobbies of companies. Look at the apple iPhone 16 launch event for example, they just said they have a bigger battery without any actual numbers to back it up and the same with their new A18 chip, they just said ooh 40% faster and you never really get where this comparative numbers come from or under which conditions.

We also see something similar like this in the crypto space especially with CEXs. Transparency is what a CEX needs to survive, actual numbers like an increase in trading volume, social media follower count, increase in available tokens and also presence of a security fund. Unfortunately only few exchanges are transparent with this numbers but it is what it is

Other Popular Cryptos / Coins / How massive was the dogs listing?
« on: September 04, 2024, 09:54:41 AM »
The DOGS token listing really had a lot of hype and it was so massive that even the 4 exchanges involved with it, Bitget, Bybit, Gate and Binance all gained a significant number of new sign ups, followers on social media and also a lot of trading volume coming from the project listing.

Obviously, the project was very popular and a lot of people were involved, which is good for the crypto community and a sign of growth and acceptance for more and more people. What do you guys think about this opinion?

Crypto Exchanges / What CEX events are worth participating in?
« on: August 31, 2024, 12:44:06 PM »
Do any of you guys randomly take advantage of events some CEXs have? I had to use one new exchange to trade my DOGS days ago and since then I've been using the exchange just because of some stupid check in rewards 😭🙏

To be fair they are giving me free DOGS and it feels like I'm falling for their marketing gimmick but I don't mind haha. CEXs can have good stuffs sometimes among all the murky marketing and all

Cryptocurrency discussions / Binance seize assets of Palestinian users
« on: August 29, 2024, 04:02:33 PM »
I never really was a Binance fanboy in the first place, barely use them this days because of regulations but boy I'm annoyed about their latest actions

Binance went ahead and seized assets of all Palestinian users they have under the orders of the IDF further encouraging the Genocide of the people of Gaza. Binance did release a claim that it was accounts linked with terrorism that were frozen but we ain't buying that crap. People have started a trend to boycott them and I really hope they lose users massively

I'm happy other CEXs haven't done the same stupid crap they did

Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: Exploring the Best Ways to Buy Crypto
« on: August 28, 2024, 12:51:26 PM »
One of the reasons why crypto is as popular as it is now is because of how accessible it is.

There are so many options available for anyone that wants to get crypto, options like crypto exchanges where you can get crypto without any hassle, or escrow platforms, or even decentralised exchanges, the list goes on.

While there are several debates on which of these are the best options for the average user like me and you, it's obvious that they've all contributed one way or another to ensure that crypto's reach is as wide as possible.

I'd like to know what your preferred option is when you want to make a purchase.

This would depends on your country and probably preference..for me p2p or getting crypto with my credit card is cool for me.. if you're lucky you'll get rewards when you purchase crypto like this one currently ongoing on Bitget
and get some rewards. Bitget warning  )/support/articles/12560603814503]Buy crypto via apple/google pay ots also on first come FCFS basics

Interesting, I've been using p2p all this while actually. I've never tried that Google pay option before, are the rates good and hope it has now issues? The event looks like a good deal too but I would love to be able to use Google pay

Decentralized Exchanges (DEX) / Is Decentralization the future?
« on: August 13, 2024, 08:16:34 PM »
There was this blockchain summit some days ago in Asia and one of the topics discussed was whether decentralization was the future of crypto and they actually did make valid points that backed it up and I think a lot of people believe in it.
If we think about it we have seen more and more people swap from CEXs to DEXs because it's decentralized and I think some exchanges are already recognizing this which is why a lot of them now have their own DEX and wallets. I even saw that some wallets owned by exchanges exceed wallets like Metamask in downloads

I don't know if we'll actually see the next notcoin, notcoun was pretty unique and rare but I do think a few projects that have not launched have potential like catizen.

Catizen currently has a pre market if you're a premarket person Bitget warning  )/pre-market/CATIUSDT]CATI pre market

In the project community they also said you'll get free 2 to 10 box worth of CATI if you trade on the pre market

Incentivised Posting / Shill / How to properly rank exchnages
« on: August 08, 2024, 09:39:40 PM »
There are a lot of talk about the best CEX to trade with and I for one think it's down to preference as most top 10 exchanges are actually decent but just differ by features and users. Even if you do want to rank exchanges, I feel one of the best ways to rank them is by trading volume, which is more or less proof traders are constantly using the exchange and trust them with their funds.

I was playing around on defillama and I decided to check the top exchanges by 24 hour volume and unsurprisingly Binance came first just because they are Binance. Deribit came second, which is kind of a surprise for me that an exchange like that has such a high volume and third was Bitget, which I'm guessing it's because they list a lot of tokens with so many features they can easily pull trading volume. MEXC and Gate also list a lot, but I think ATM they are more popular than them, hence they rank third

Crypto Exchanges / How To Avoid P2P Scams
« on: August 07, 2024, 08:44:54 PM »
I don't know if you guys have seen the latest p2p scams going on especially on bybit where the vendors file appeal immediately after they claim they have sent the funds then in the end the bybit CS favors the vendor over you. The outrage this is caused is people claiming the vendors have way too much power, which I feel is true, and it's slightly the fault of the cexs

The thing about P2P is you have to have eyes and know when an advert is a scam.I do P2P on Bitget and I always avoid adverts that have higher than market rates, low completion rate probably less than 90% and also have less than 1k orders completed.
It has worked for me every time, and I haven't encountered any scams yet, so I'll say it's very important to be vigilant of sketchy ads. I've had something close to this before, but Bitget CS were responsive and useful then They  solved it and I'm glad they did

In the end, it's very important to start vigilant on whatever cex you use and be cautious

Nigerian Languages / Asia's Blockchain Summit has a Nigerian speaker
« on: August 07, 2024, 12:12:01 AM »
If you've not heard, there's ABS Asia Blockchain Summit that started just today and lasts till the 8th of this month. A lot of big names are currently at this event as speakers like the TON founder, Bybit CEO, Bitget wallet COO and Bitget COO also but we also have a Nigerian woman there as a speaker and she's Dr. Obiageli “Oby” Ezekwesili, the founder of SPPG. It's very interesting to see a Nigerian woman as a speaker in this event, and I look forward to her speech

Another thing is as someone who uses Bitget in Nigeria because okx and Binance have packed up, I want to see if they'll announce any interesting announcements or good insights about their development, the only thing they've talked about is giving out merch to the people that attend

Are any of you planning to follow this Summit?

I actually know about Matr1x network and I think they are one of the most advanced gamefi platforms out there IMO. I heard about their token and I wasn't really interested at first but a buddy of mine let me know that they list on Aug 5th so enough time for me to research about the project. He also told me they partnered with some exchanges like giving out free MAX tokens for signing up on the exchange. I don't know if it's all the exchanges but it was Bitget he told me about then. I've still not really had the time to research properly

Other Popular Cryptos / Coins / How frequent should Pre-markets be?
« on: August 01, 2024, 08:52:13 PM »
Is it just me or have pre-markets been getting more and more popular or rather rampant over the past few months. AI, GameFi, Memes and all sorts of tokens have been having pre-markets for weeks now which I think is just exchanges trying to capitalize on the hype a project has to trap users on their platform when that token lists.

To be fair it's not fully like that, I've participated in a couple premarkets myself and actually found them quite rewarding. You may be wondering why I'm writing all this, well I was going to check the price of this one ORDER project on premarket and I saw a whole bunch of other tokens on premarket as well and I didn't think many of them were necessary tho. Do you guys have the same thoughts too?
