First, always look at when the post you are responding to was written, because you just quoted someone from 1+ years ago. We call that necropost, and we avoid such things. I hope I don't have to explain why.

I joined bitcointalk today and was serious hacked off. Said my IP had been used for "evil" in the past which is absolute BS and to post I had to send them some BTC, that's a horrible tactic. They know full well you can't sent 0.00002 btc or whatever it is from most exchanges so you are being forced to pay more. I have no issue supporting forums but I won't be bullied in to it!
It is just a kind of fight against automated (bot) creation of new accounts and possibly spam prevention. Maybe someone before you used the same IP address to access the forum, or if you used a VPN, these are the most common reasons for evil fees. It is mostly a symbolic amount and serves to confirm that a real person is behind the account.

Can someone explain to me what a bounty campaign is? Is it to recruit new members. I have seen it mentioned here a few times but am not clear what it means.
Check the earning section https://www.altcoinstalks.com/index.php#c21
Be sure to check the date, maybe some bounty campaign is no longer active. Also, in each first post, you have the rules that are required from the participants. Sometimes the forum rank is not important, and sometimes it is exclusive only to a certain rank

Thanks for the info!

Meme Coins / Re: Warning Signs When Investing On Meme coins

I got into BabyBrett yesterday evening and its already done a 2x since then and a lot more over the 4 days since it was launched. Its actually a meme with a twist in that you also get some Brett returns as well as anything you might make.

Might be too late now although its still pumping. Only available through uniswap, metamask etc. I'm close to taking profit to cover what I invested so then its a risk free trade. A friend recommended it so was a bit lucky. Very strong community and the rewards system is a first of type I believe so worth a look maybe. Wish he had told me 3 days ago!

Thanks chaps

All valid points and I do research as much as I can. I know a lot of the youtubers are just conmen so if they are pimping a coin too heavily that normally rings alarm bells!

For some reason a lot of them seem to talk about HBAR and QNT but I don't really rate either of them although I have friends who are extremely bullish on them so hard to know as they have been in crypto much longer than me but neither of those coins are showing signs of life!

Thanks both for the replies. I think I need to take a closer look

They can be unpredictable as I have saw some which technically look crap and they absolutely explode upon becoming available on exchanges but drop sharply soon after.

I managed to interrogate chatGPT into giving me a list of alt coins for a 5k portfolio and some of them looks good. I don't think the likes of Cardano will do much but could be wrong. Any thoughts on below? The last time it suggested a coin it was a complete flop!
Using AI especially GPT is not a wise option to find coins to invest in. As AI uses existing data on the internet and utilizes it to give you a satisfactory answer so the list you are seeing must be taken from an article written by the title of Top 10 or 5 alts to invest in. It (GPT) picked the alts from there and added his own words to it. If you are using the free version then its more dum if not then only a dumb idea to pick alts from AI.

I might consider using AI bots specialized for Trading or other crypto stuff as there algorithm would be dedicated but in this case using GPT which is not a trading or crypto-dedicated bot, I will pass it. I suggest you test Bybit's AI bot which is built into there Exchange. I find it more attractive but allow me to give you a disclaimer as well that it was also not so accurate when I tested it.

Maybe I should have worded it better. I'm not going to buy coins based on chatgpt, that would be crazy. It was more out of curiosity. I think a few on the list have potential.

I think there are too many AI bots out there now. I don't really know anyone who has made a lot of money from one although I know a guy who is building one and his crypto knowledge is absolutely insane. I can see day trading becoming flooded with bots and humans not really standing a chance. I hope that doesn't happen but I fear the writing is on the wall :(

Cryptocurrency Trading / Liquidity pools - Anyone got experience?
« on: June 11, 2024, 11:45:51 PM »
Just saw a video from my old Mentor and hes's doing exceptionally well holding Brett and Eth in a liquidity pool.
He has far more money to invest than me but the calculations suggest I could make 182 bucks a month from 1000 bucks investment. Of course there is some risk but it really seems like a better idea than potentially holding them in an exchange, especially as alts are bleeding heavily.

I'm no expert so any info would be ace as this correction may last a while, hopefully not too long of course!

Thanks in advance

While the promise of high returns is tempting, the risks can outweigh the rewards. Instead, I prefer to stick to more stable investment options. However, if you're keen on exploring ICOs, it's crucial to do thorough research and consider factors like the project's team, technology, and market potential. Personally, I've found ICO Calendar to be a helpful tool for identifying legitimate opportunities amidst the sea of risky ventures. It's all about making informed decisions and minimizing risks in the volatile world of cryptocurrency investments.

Well said. Also make sure the project team are on Linkedin or something similar as sometimes they are just fake people, with communities of paid members. Not saying thats the case here but just be careful. I wouldn't go in heavy but I'd always throw £100 at a half decent ICO. Not a fortune to lose but if it explodes on release then theres a few grand to DCA in to main portfolio. In my idealistic world!!

Solana Forum / Re: Are you stacking solana?
« on: June 11, 2024, 10:20:19 PM »
Its my 3rd biggest holding and probably a safe 3x in the bullrun. I'm not sure it will go beyond that but it might.  I will probably take 50% profit at 3 x and then see if it goes to 4x, 5x or beyond. I think its unlikely to do anything crazy but I hope I am wrong! Its my safe play as I am not wealthy enough to bother with the big two!

I think it will eventually as the Ethereum fees are too high and Solana are working on other solutions. I think they are more progressive in their thinking than Ethereum. I have an IT background and Ethereum just feels dated. I think there's a v2 in the pipeline but not sure if its going to replace or run alongside the regular Ethereum. Its not very clear, correct me if I am wrong please!

What are peoples thoughts on this. Looks fairly promising and a decent whitepaper

Not had a decent ICO return since Brickken. Glad I cashed out when I got a 5x as it dumped quickly after!

Totally agree about takind advice from other people. Most crypto youtubers are just conmen. I was with Jake Gordon who is a great guy. Had only been a member for a month and he took us all out in London, paid for hotel and everything. He actually shows his portfolios as well whereas a lot of them tell you to buy a certain coin that they either haven't bought or are just going to pump and dump you.

That dickhead Andrew Tate is manipulating the market now too with his Top G coin. House of crypto guys found a way of tracking his wallet etc but I really can't be bothered with that which may or may not be a bad thing. It absolutely exploded by an insane amount and of course then went down quicker than a 20 dollar whore! I have made a few quid of memes like Pepe and Brett but they are basically just gambling!

I’ve just stumbled upon a report by CoinShares, it seems like crypto miners might be gearing up to venture into the Artificial Intelligence (AI) sector! Because Bitcoin halving pushes up production costs to almost double, miners are scrambling to find ways to optimize their operations. And guess what? Redirecting their computing power towards AI could be the next big move!

Some key players are already making moves in this direction such as BitDigital (BTBT), Hive (HIVE), and Hut 8 (HUT). And it doesn't stop there - TeraWulf (WULF) and Core Scientific (CORZ) are either already involved in AI or lanning to dive in soon.

Well, think about it: as these mining giants shift their focus to AI, it opens up exciting possibilities for the AI sector's growth. And you know what that means - potential profits could skyrocket! But joining in some big AI tokens right now, such as FET or AGIX, is hard to get revenue. Instead, hunting for presale or IDO opportunities, like AURUMT, is a safer way to earn money in this chaotic moment.

Interesting. Mining has been a dead industry for years not since BTC went over to proof of stake. I sold all my mining kit at a big loss.

I have AGIX and FETCH but wondered if the company Hive you mentioned are anything to do with Hivemapper coin as I was recommended that in another forum. Looked a bit dead but low market cap so could potentially just explode out of nowhere, or remain a corpse coin as I call them, the ones that never seem to really go up or down and I'm not referring to stablecoins!
