It will be something of a proof that adoption is massively going when these data is publicised excluding that 5% from illicit transactions.

I am sure the number is significantly higher than 5% in crypto.

As global grey area is about 5% and crypto is a convinient tool to covert the origins, the volume is much higher.
It might be the same in terms of number of crypto users, but shadow sector would be significantly more active in terms of transactions.

Can I know how you were scammed here in the crypto space op? I'm just curious, but since 2017 you've known this right? How about the research you did during those times and up until now? Since the times of 2017 until now, the victim of scam here in the crypto space has not disappeared.

The scammers are still going on, so I asked how you were scammed op, so that other members here will be aware of the story you're telling at least somehow. Then most of the crypto community is also careful of those who know and are aware of scammers.

Sure, it's in this topic, I've written it from the start.

Again, I stress as much as I can

I do realize I won't get my funds back. I am triggered by the lack of response from the admins of the forum, that the scammer is still here and no one cares.

So, scam is tolerated. Be it

So if the scammer doesn't return the funds then there is nothing we can do. But we always warn everyone so that no one gets scammed.

I literally showed proofs of the scam from the member of the forum and there were absolutely no actions from the administration.
I am not expecting that the funds will return, but the scammer is still present and is the source of the future scams right here.

So if the hygene is not an issue, that threatens the reputation of the forum in general

Unfortunately, no response on the scammer from the Administration of the forum.

Too sad.

One can say that the crypto area is full of scam but it is also the society of trust and collaboration.
From what I witnessed, the newlt established institutions, like social forums, keep their eyes closed on obvious and proven scams and do nothing to clear the area.

This kind of society is non-sustainable, prove me wrong

Considering the accused user was active today and choose to ignore you anyway! Also the address is flagged, meaning the scam was pre planned!

Lets see what the judges have to say!

true, the decision to ignore the problem and keep activities on the forum is triggering me here.

Thank you for support!

You can contact me via PM if you think it is necessary. I will try to respond as quickly as possible.

Thank you for the response.
Sure, I realize that probability to get assets back is tiny but I would appreciate the response from the mentioned user and some actions from the administration when they find it reasonable.

Hopefully, the scammer will send it back to you mate it's not that easy being scammed sad to say it happened here we are sorry for that.
there's chance that some good fellows might send OP some money as charity but there's no chance that the scammer will send the money back to OP.

Dear All,

First of all, thank you for the support. I reached out with no intention to get money back but I felt I needed to share my experience for others to be more aware and not to evoke negative feelings about it. And I might needed to hear some words of encouragement, so I am grateful I received it in this community.

Secondly, I don't expect the scammers will send money back even partially, nor I feel I am in position to ask for charity. Those are your money well earned and you don't have to share them with others just because someone was unfortunate.

However, I would appreciate options on making assets together, benefiting from each others talents.
Like my general economics, macroeconomics knowledge and midformat film camera photoshooting

I firmly believe this community is not about scammers and my short experience is totally positive besides the very start of it.

You can try making a thread about him on the reputation board. If you have enough evidence people will notice it.
Thank you!

Set all the facts here, hopefully it will get attention

I was scammed 1 ETH by this user:
https://www.altcoinstalks.com/index.php?action=profile;u=81997

On December 4th I followed an airdrop of the "Foxside"
https://www.altcoinstalks.com/index.php?topic=325977.msg1677469#new

created by user:
Jobayer Hasan Rahi
https://www.altcoinstalks.com/index.php?action=profile;u=81997

This was a thread on Airdrop and to claim it you have to enter the site
Caution! This site contains a harmfull links inside:
https://foxside.io

There I was supposed to connect my waller and as I scanned the QR code it triggered a smart contract that drained my account (0,97 ETH)

Here is a link to the transaction
https://optimistic.etherscan.io/tx/0xbdcdc8825eaa4b2830bc08139c044e1176500f097f0288369d7bd9e150b44369

After the smart contract transfered it to these wallets:
0x8da472B318d93E7E473D3893CD40084F2a23D3B3 (already flagged and phishing)
0x450d6d05c246593D050045D729500979cD896afe

I messaged Jobayer Hasan Rahi  but he ignored me.

I have little faith in will get the funds back but want to warn others to avoid this scammer

Economics , Sociology & Politics / Re: What boosts a country's economy?
« on: December 05, 2024, 12:57:02 PM »
If I can add to discussion

One needs to define economic growth as it may not be understood in the same way by everyone.
In terms of plain figures, if GDP grows, economy is growing. However, the quality of life may deteriorate.
Or the distribution of wealth will be heavily disproportionate and few will benefit from growth.
Or the distribution may be too equal and noone will benefit from growth.

Classically speaking, economy grows with growth of consumption. And as consumption is sustainable demand that meets productivity you may say that: Economic growth is a function of productivity and consumption. Where productivity is a function of efficiency of labour, capital (resources) , technology (knowledge).
Consumption is a function of education, employment, demand.

I like Keynesian approach that explain economy as a virtuos circle of Consumption — Productivity — Employment and back to Consumption

During economic shocks the circle gets disrupted and that's where employees need new skills to get jobs that meet the needs of production to get salaries they can spend
And production needs to rebuild itself to produce the stuff the market will consume.

Of course, these processes are not simultaneous and the speed of transition often is a key of success.

I checked the link but I don't see a QR code. I also checked the website posted on that thread and it seems like you need to connect your web3 wallet to interact with it. Does the website behave differently if we access it from a desktop? Maybe my ad blocker or VPN also affects this.

Looks like the OP of that thread is still active. He posted many new threads for different projects. Maybe try to report him and put your screenshot or anything that can support your claim.

Yes, the thread with the airdrop was deleted, but the site still operates.
Should I post the site knowing that it is a scam and people would take a risk entering it?

The OP is active, I reached him but he ignored my message and my comment in the tread.

How can I report him?

This is a very important to watch out for especially for newbies in the space and be more careful while clicking links and not just scan any QR code with their phones especially even on their wallets. The money may have been loss, but you’ll get back more sooner as you strive to achieve great things in the crypto space soon.

That is true

Thank you!

Well, I wonder what are the tools to achieve great things besides trading?
NFTs are not on the rise as I see now. I tried minting some of my photos but it takes a lot of time to market those. And the competition is not about the quality of the art, correct me if I am wrong

~snip
Did you have a password on your wallet?
I think before you can sign a contract  it should request your password if set.

That was the thing
I was properly protected at web version, but in iOS it was covered by faceid. And it requested the sign-in, however somehow it slipped me a smart contract. Didn't no of this function. Perhaps others would be careful from my mistake

Scammers are keep evolving so it's our responsibility to not trust everything even if it's posted on this forum.

I partially disagree, it is my responsibility to keep my eyes open and I am not whining about the loss.

But if something is published on the forum, there must be consequences from the admins, moderators, — the platform needs hygene to remain healthy and if scammers won't get punishment, at least a ban on the forum, then the forum has very little credibility.

I did explore scamming tools, but there's no end to them so I did get caught.
And the link is still on this forum.
