"satoshi" has been added to Oxford English Dictionary

First was bitcoin
Second was cryptocurreny
Then there's blockchain

Now they listed "satoshi" and defined it as:

a satoshi is the smallest monetary unit in the Bitcoin cryptocurrency, and is named after Satoshi Nakamoto, the—probably pseudonymous—developer(s) of Bitcoin.

I'm not sure if there would be any impact on bitcoin's popularity but it's good that the word has been acknowledged although I think it's a bit late.

What word will be next?

I would not be surprised to see words like "hodl" to be added also.

Oxford is completing bitcoin ecosystem in their dictionary, I think. But I'm afraid it wouldn't bring any more popularity to bitcoin. Next ones should be some academic words like segwit, hardfork, 51% attach... Talking about this, Investopedia is a complete cryptocurrency dictionary.

Yes, they are completing and adding one crypto-related term every xxx years. Segwit might be a good addition to the OED list too but we could see that in the next decade 

It is expected for Investopedia to have all terms. It's made for all types of investors and all kinds of investments after all.

I think from time to time English language upgrade from one editiion to another by adding certain words that has been so used in every day life. Satoshi Nakamoto took a little long to be added but it is good that such a popular name added in the latest edition of the English dictionary.

In other words, Bitcoin has been accepted by students at OXFORD.
Further development may be certain that they will create altcoins that are even more useful compared to altcoins that are currently circulating on the crypto market.

Very promising and I like things like this within the scope of student learning.

It means that Oxford recognizes "satoshi" as the smallest monetary unit in the Bitcoin. I guess Oxford will add more words related to Bitcoin and crypto because of the existence of Bitcoin and crypto have been confessed by many people around the world. Good news for crypto users!!

For me personally, this is great news. Because now even more people will know what Satoshi is and what it is. Therefore, it seems to me that bitcoin will be even more popular. But it does not seem to affect the price in any way.
