American fast-food giants like Starbucks and McDonald’s are reportedly not participating in China’s ongoing digital yuan tests.
As reported, a number of foreign merchants, which were rumored to be part of China’s CBDC tests, are actually not using the digital yuan for payment so far.

I think there is no problem when Starbucks and McDonald prefer to not participate. They may have a strong reason to not participate, but it doesn't mean they won't accept China’s digital yuan. Let's see how these two big companies to follow the improvement of China’s digital yuan. I think they will accept China’s digital yuan in the end.

It is simply because of the US-China trade war which sometimes seem childish to me. I mean it is awkward that these guys are openly against each other but still do not completely stop business with eachother and that is rediculous.

What secret, bro? I don't understand about the secret you mean. I think there is no secret here, the digital Yuan is created not intended to all countries, I guess. I assume basically the digital Yuan is created for the payment in China only, or for the local purpose. But who knows if it is planned to use for global currency.

This is quite expected since those two big business companies are still USA-based and they do not want to create a bad impression with the government that they are cooperating with China. Anyway, the success of this so-called digital yuan of China is not resting on foreign-based corporations but on its very own land and people itself. This is supposed to be supplementing (that is, for now) the paper money of China, with the aim of course of later on possibly replacing the dominance of USA Dollar in global commerce, especially those dealing with the growing China business. Soon, we can also have a digital USA Dollar, so at the end there can be a sort of balancing in the marketplace.

Very funny. How do you expect american corporations like Starbucks and Mc Donalds to experiment with Digital Yuan when there's a long standing trade dispute between the two World powers. They are still treading on ice over there

it seems that their sense of nationalism towards the US is higher than others. 

however, they are not obliged to join into digital yuan testing, it is their company policy.
