Cryptocurrency, and especially bitcoin, already needs to change dramatically. Functionally, bitcoin has already hopelessly lagged behind almost all cryptocurrencies, having a scalability of only about seven transactions per second, while others are already showing results up to a million transactions per second. Moreover, it is not only slow, but also expensive, and in every sense. However, if the first cryptocurrency is somehow forgiven, then the problem of energy consumption can become a very serious problem for it. After all, we are already talking about the survival of human civilization.
Against this background, ethereum compares very favorably with bitcoin, updating  on time and simultaneously solving the problem of high energy costs. Therefore, it is quite possible that in terms of capitalization and price dominance, ethereum may soon overtake Bitcoin.
