While microcredit has acquired a bad reputation worldwide, thanks to its association with high interest rates and loan sharks, these bad actors could be removed from the scene.

With every record in the ledger transparent and visible to all, blockchain can impose accountability on every link in the chain. So where backhanders and bribes are present, corruption could be left in the past.
