SLP is an ERC20 token that can be used to breed a new digital pet called Axies. Breeding costs start at 100 SLP, but gradually increase. It increases to 200 SLP for the second variety, 300 for the third variety, 500 for the fourth variety, 800 for the fifth variety and 1,300 for the sixth variety. The shaft can breed up to 7 times, and the 7th breed costs 2,100 SLP. This limit is in place to prevent hyperinflation in the market.

As the game progresses, it may take some time to accumulate SLPs and players may need to win 15 competitions to earn enough tokens to run their first race. Buying SLPs on the open market is a way for gamers to get a good start.
