Have you ever found someone who suddenly won a large sum of money through gambling and changed his lifestyle with that money?
I'm assuming that this will go either way, right?
You mean they won a large money through gambling and changed their lifestyle either positively or negatively.
If that's the case, I know somebody who has won a huge amount of money in gambling. After that, he bought a home for his family and became more private in terms of his lifestyle. Of course, I knew that he was gambling already, and seeing his lifestyle change, and seeing his new home, I knew that he won at gambling at that time. Fast forward, he continued to gamble until the tables turned against him. He lost in gambling multiple times, and it came to a point where the house that he bought was sold just to have money to be used for gambling. I didn't know what happened after that, but his lifestyle completely changed just because of him getting addicted to gambling.
Gambling can change our lifestyle either way. It will just depend on how we will react after we won or lost a huge amount of money.
Gambling can actually change our lifestyle either for better or worse but like you said it all depends on how you react to your losses and wins. Starting with the wins first, there are people that have won millions from gambling that didn't allow the excitement of their wins cloud their thinking, they hardly show of what they won, this has to do with a high level of maturity.instead of getting carried away by their wins they decided to invest in businesses and other things. Losing on the other hand can come with a lot of lifestyle changes too especially if you lost everything in possession, people in this category might develop drug addiction and they might start to be constantly depressed
Gambling is, in fact, a two-way street; you either win or lose. Either way results in a behavior. Winning, which should normally improve a gambler's life, can sometimes lead to the gambler developing a flamboyant lifestyle that he is unable to sustain. Such a person may develop pride and avoid old friends and acquaintances. This type of behavior has the potential to turn what was previously celebrated as good into something bad. As a result, the adage "what matters is not making the money but rather utilizing the money well" becomes more credible.
On the other hand, some gamblers can be on a losing streak and still maintain composure, whereas some gamblers will lose little and exhibit attitudes that will undoubtedly affect those around them. As you mentioned, overly ambitious gamblers can become addicts, making it difficult for them to take control of their lives.
