It's common to see friends strike a bet during an argument, infact it happens almost all the time. Personally I place bet with my friends, if I loose and you didn't return my stake I don't usually mind

you must be really kind then lol for some people though they do not see the point of betting against each other if one party will not honor it and the other wont even mind if the other one didnt actually go through and paid what was agreed upon you should be careful though because some friends might be taking advantage of you already if you keep having this mindset about everything

Not returning stake after winning a bet can not cause rift between me and my friends.

good for you then it would seem that you have a strong bond with your friends for you to be confident enough that this will not ruin your friendship

Without awareness of the potential consequences that may arise, money can become a source of serious conflict in interpersonal relationships.
Betting with friends can be a fun moment but ironically, often the opposite happens.
This may not be a problem at first, but it will be a problem if the winner of the bet does not pay the bet as promised.
There are many other ways to have fun with friends without getting involved in betting. IMO

I don't like betting with a friend to avoid having problems with them, because temptations are bound to happen in such bet since one will take the other for granted and will not abide to the rules in the long run. Friendship is better than gambling, so why ruin up a good friendship all in the name of gambling. Some people cannot watch another person walk away with their money when they are stronger than you.

Playing bets with friends Can be fun as it helps to strengthen the bond of friendship that exists between them gambling is something that brings people together especially friends that are into betting as sometimes they will go out to watch football matches and bet whose team is to win the game

However, no matter what is to be done in partnership: only joking, sharing storeys, or passing time watching something, the main thing is how this partnership is to remain healthy and valuable. The closeness in the relationship will be enhanced by a focal area of respect for the other person because it stands for both concern and candour that characterises togetherness. A previous study established that every single behaviour represents an aspect of the worth of the friendship. If we take trust as the foundation of the relationship, the relationship will be more stable, and thus the happiness received is far deeper than that which is derived from pleasure.
