Hold ETH or invest in ERC-20 tokens?

Its good point that pos seems to still be working for quite a few coins.

I am not a fan of POS , but I understand some like 👍 the idea  of POS. For me the only pos coin I deal with is solana since it acts as the backbone for helium hotspot mining.⛏️

No consensus protocol is perfect: PoW has scalability limitations, PoS can threaten decentralization, and Solana PoH has led to network outages. We can only continue to monitor the devteam efforts and hope they can create a safe and stable environment for us to invest and profit.

I believe that despite the current unfavorable situation, ETH and ERC-20 tokens will soon return to the price rally and solidify their irreplaceable position in this market, just as they successfully did in 2021 when many Layer-1s were launched and technologically overwhelmed Ethereum.

Don’t see myselfbuying and holding eth, but I have friends with 20 ,30 , 40 coins.
They are happy with them.

Portfolio diversification depends on an investor capabilities and preferences, so each investor can hold as many tokens as they like, as long as they generate profits. Some investors may hold multiple tokens to avoid missing out on any market trends, and they can use profits from early-growth trends to reinvest in other trends to maximize returns during a bullrun.

I prefer a simpler approach: I'll hold the native coin of a blockchain to benefit from all trends within that ecosystem. For example, if I believe in the Ethereum ecosystem with RWA, DeFi, and GameFi in this bullrun, I'll hold ETH instead of researching many potential projects within the ecosystem.

Overall, both diversified and focused approaches have their merits; it ultimately comes down to individual risk tolerance and investment goals. If you’re comfortable with your strategy and believe in the fundamentals of the Ethereum ecosystem, it seems like a sound plan.

Many investors are losing patience with ERC-20 tokens and even ETH due to their weak recovery/growth compared to BTC. However, the Ethereum ecosystem remains highly promising and deserves our attention, monitoring, research, and search for opportunities.

As you mentioned, investors can independently decide on the capital allocation strategy for their portfolios. They can prioritize safety and choose ETH, or they can seek higher returns by investing in other tokens within the Ethereum ecosystem, especially those in hot trends: DeFi, AI, RWA, GameFi, NFT, and more.

Ethereum is the second largest cryptocurrency after.bitcoin, so ethereum is always compared to bitcoin. But i have always noticed that ethereum always follows bitcoin pump line. However, the value of Ethereum has been increasing steadily since its inception and investors believe that it will continue to do so in the future. So if an investor wants to invest in it, he can invest without any hesitation. Since investing in it does not require looking at risk so you can definitely hold for long time.

Investors have held this belief for years, fueling ETH price impressive rallies in the market. However, this sentiment might shift in this cycle due to various reasons. I'm not saying it will definitely happen, I'm just presenting possibilities I've considered.

The underperformance of ETH Spot ETFs indicates investors are turning to BTC for safety, rather than trusting in the long-term value of ALTs. Additionally, Layer-2 solutions are thriving, attracting Ethereum users with their high speed and low fees. While I still believe ETH price will rise and hit new ATHs, its returns might not outperform BTC as significantly as in previous cycles.
