University of Wyoming launches first academic Bitcoin research institute

Wherever learning about bitcoin is mentioned, my fear has always been teaching the wrong things about Bitcoin. But in this situation I am sure that nothing wrong will be taught. It is called bitcoin research institute, which means its goal is about learning and researching bitcoin before giving out information. So, it will be difficult for a whole institution to be misled. There are alot of approved resources they can use and there are experts also willing to help.

Sometimes, the name does not match with their works. Take the countries names Iceland and Greenland for example, Greenland isn't green enough but full of Ice and Iceland is way much green than Greenland. Even though the name is Bitcoin research Institude, you never know what changes they are going to make. I have also the same fear that, they might end up learning wrong thing.

As I posted in other forums as well, people still don't know how Bitcoin wallet's works. They doesn't even understand the difference between a wallet and an exchange. A lot of people still use Binance, Kucoin as a wallet without knowing that their fund is not in their hand anymore.

A dedicated research institute for Bitcoin only. It feels like a dream coming true first it was Russia to allowed the use of crypto for global trades and now there is a dedicated research institute for BTC only.

This will play an important role and the director of this institute is also not an ordinary person. After reading reviews about his book dedicated to BTC shows that he have good knowledge and understanding of cryptocurrency.

Let's see what new researches this institute will bring.

More research on bitcoin is always great, it could both allow more people to understand what bitcoin is, and it could also show the world how it could improve as well with new works on it. Academics is a great part of how the world evolves, these people who study and learn stuff do not just get there by learning it, they also do it by addition, meaning that they try to take it one step ahead, not all of them does it of course because there are very useless ones too, but some of them are great at what they do and could help the bitcoin world. We just have to wait and see what comes out of this place.

Very true mate. But there's this level of dedication and responsibility that comes with some tasks. Even at my knowledge of Bitcoin, that I can differentiate between all the wallets. I can teach about CEXs and DEXs. I can even say about the open and closed source codes. I can even go more deep, but immediately I am saddled with the responsibility of teaching in that institute, I'll go do more research and equip myself.
So, there's no how such an institution that has attracted the attention of the public will be doing something off bitcoin in the name of ignorance.

Lots of good reading materials in their website and it will really enlighten not just Bitcoin enthusiast but other non-Bitcoin guys as well.

However, I was quite surprised to see that they are just allow $$$ and not Bitcoin as donation? How ironic it is?

And you can see that there is a textbox that says "Anonymous Gift"  . They should have included Bitcoin though as one means for donation.

IMO it's not that ironic. Looking at other pages of the university website[1-2], they also use givecampus.com (3rd party service) to accept donation. So it's probably about convenience or re-using something they're already familiar with. Although they definitely could do better by also accepting Bitcoin, through showing Bitcoin address.

I get your point. Although i just visited the institute page again and found out they state they accept Bitcoin on bottom of the page.

Although it's weird i didn't find any additional information about donating with Bitcoin. It's possible they haven't figured out best way to secure donated Bitcoin or simply forget to update the page.

See buddy from within one last year how much attention Bitcoin has gained, I can mention a lot of things that happened in this bull cycle and all the developments were special for the Bitcoin ecosystem like the approvement of Spot ETF, those who consider it as an illegal tender start to invest in it, i mean once BlackRock was also one of them who used to consider bitcoin as a gateway for money laundering or illegal asset and now you can see how much this organization has involved into the bitcoin.

You also mention one thing that Russia Russia also allows to accept crypto for global traders and honesty many more things happened in this bull cycle and here we come to know one another great thing from the OP post is that university started to educate students about bitcoin and this can really prove a great thing for the Bitcoin as many new freshers will come in the bitcoin market after getting an education about it. I have a more open-minded view regarding CEXs or DEXs as both play important roles in this market development. The choice ultimately belongs to the investors, and the task of research institutions is to point out to them both the opportunities and risks of each option.

The widespread dissemination of scientific publications or training programs about BTC and crypto could significantly boost crypto market development, thereby helping crypto become a new asset class that is familiar to everyone, especially the younger generation – who will inherit assets from their parents in the future. It would be great if they have a correct understanding of crypto and develop wise investment strategies in this market.

You mean legal tender not illegal tender. I was unaware that BlackRock has considered BTC as a gateway for money laundering or considered it an illegal asset. After reading the news I confirm that they said it. It the karma I think companies and people were first not admiring BTC and now they are admiring it. If BlackRock's CEO talked about BTC as a money laundering index and now adopting it then we stop calling Trump a fox wearing sheep's dress. Because he can also change.

In the initial state, every student thinks about which subject to choose so later they don't have to face problems like no other options in that field. As far as I remember I once shared a post on another forum where it was mentioned in the post that BlackRock used to consider it as an illegal thing but now BlackRock is also involved in it. They have very huge investment in Bitcoin and they also get their spot ETF for Bitcoin which shows that they are very bullish on it and have a strong interest in Bitcoin now.

I agree with your statement now because before I failed to understand it. Your sentence was long and that's why I did not relate BlackRock with the illegal tender statement.

I agree with your statement that good mentorship saves students good time that they will waste in finding a destination to learn things. Some students are learning the wrong data for the path and some are learning the out-of-date skills. Mentors are hard to find but if you got one you have to stick to them in any moral way.

I heard many stories that good mentors when you meet them in person to get the skills won't give it to you in the first to first 5 tries because they test you first.
