You'd rather want him to learn it from you than him seeking the help of someone else. He will be talking to someone else when you decline him the help he asked.

So yes this is going to be a good time to teach the responsibility ble gambling while he is interested. He will treasure the advice because this is a father and son bonding.
If my son asks me how to play basketball (changed from soccer because I am only good at betting on basketball) I would explain him about gambling so that he will understand the negative effects it will also be a good way for father-son bonding and at the same time advising your son.

If my child who's above 18years ask me about helping him in betting in soccer I will help him ,to me there's nothing wrong with it we as human being has the free will to do what ever we want so it will be against your child's interest for you not to tell him or her.
The highest you can do is to give advice and make the child see reason why he should not engage in betting as it can become addictive and become a problem in the future

We can help him several times, but we also have to remind about education of the harms and dangers of gambling, and therefore our function is to give the right directions that can be done. The results show that by describing potential drawbacks like becoming an addict and possible consequences, the possible dangerous steps can be explained to children. While it is everybody’s right to decide what they want, the company can recommend or dissuade them from certain actions that are not healthy, accompanied by sound advice. Therefore, support is given without denying the need for sense and understanding regarding what may be experienced in the future.

When I have a son I will teaching him that gambling is for irresponsible people. I will teach him all the bad and negative effects of gambling even the ones that doesn't exist.

I think no responsible parent or parents will teach their children the act of gambling.

Gambling is a bad behaviour take it or leave it

this is why its you who would need to teach your kid when this questions comes from him already. take the opportunity to mark an impression of you being father giving a helping hand to make him understand responsible gambling.

i would probably try to tech the strategy in gambling and try winning the bets  or possible outcome. he needs to lose money in order to understand the value of money. people only realize the value of money after he lost it all.

You can teach him about nothing good he will benefit from it in the long run but instead it will just give him stress and loses. You can just teach him to invest in something that will make him productive and profitable, teach them how to earn money in good ways not to waste money from nonsense things like gambling. It is true that gambling is a kind of entertainment but it is a disguised trap.

Imagine your son, who just turned 18, comes to you, saying, "Dad, I would like to learn how to bet on soccer." He asks if you can explain the basics, like understanding odds, analysis techniques, and the risks involved. What would you do?
I know that, as a parent, you want to support your son’s interests but also worry about the potential downsides of gambling, which is normal from my point of view (well, I think teenagers may become addicted to gambling more easily than adults).
My question is: Do you take this opportunity to teach him about responsible betting, or do you try to steer him away from it? Also, if you are still supporting him financially, would you allow him to use the money you provide for betting? the money you work so hard for... :)

P.S.: Whether you’re a parent or not, you are welcome to share your opinion!

I would definitely say no as i don't want him to be like me, a gambler. Besides he is still dependent on me financially so why would i allow him to gamble the money which comes from me. If he becomes a gambler in the future at least it doesn't come from me.

I will not allow my child gamble until they are able to become responsible for it financially by earning their own money to use as they wish. Allowing my child to gamble with the pocket money given to him by me means I have the intention to increase the pocket money I give to him because the money given to him will no longer be enough. My child will need to understand responsible gambling before they start gambling; they need to be aware of the risk so that they can avoid becoming addicts.
Showing them how to bet is not bad. But before showing them how to bet, one needs to know if they have their own finance, a source of income where cash flows and it won't affect them when they lost to betting.
