What is EOS ECAF?
The problem around the EOS
What is EOS? EOS is a blockchain and smart contract platform that enables development, hosting and execution of commercial-scale decentralized applications (dApps) with a focus on speed, scalability and user experience. In a much simpler sense, EOS is a general purpose platform on which many decentralized applications can be built.
EOS uses delegated proof of stake (DPoS) model. Also, it regards token ownership as a bandwidth on the network to achieve high throughput and zero transaction fees. It is considered the major challenger and competitor to ethereum. However, other smart contract platforms that competes in the same category include NEO, Cardano, Tezos, Dfinity, Rchain, etc.
EOS is an open source software currently being developed by Block.one. Block.one is a company registered in Cayman Islands. Block.one describes EOS as an operating system for decentralized applications. Block.one currently employs more than 50 people and it’s growing.
ECAF has been in the mouths of many media outlets recently, due to the freezing of EOS accounts suspected of phishing propaganda or hacking. Over 27 accounts have frozen by the voted in Block Producers without proper constitutional accordance, this is an issue and making headlines worldwide.

What is happening? The ECAF is an arbitration forum built for and by the EOS community. The ECAF’s proposed Rules for Dispute Resolution. The ECAF is a crucial step in building the governance infrastructure that sets EOSIO apart and allows the technology to finally break through to the mainstream.
EOS Store. EOS Store is under fire for not complying with the ECAFs ruling to freeze suspicious accounts; a blacklist was bestowed upon each Block Producer to ensure evicted accounts could not withdraw the funds they stole through phishing or other means. On June 24th, EOS Store went against the wishes of ECAF and processed a transaction of a blacklisted account, this lead to 3570 EOS tokens being stolen. Block Producers get paid 10 000 USD to govern and guide the EOS ecosystem to betterment, letting fraudulent accounts get away with triple that in a single transaction is bound to cause a stir especially when 20 other producers complied with the blacklist supplied. For an account to be frozen, all Block Producers must agree to not process transactions for said account meaning EOS store was one of twenty-one to go against ECAF causing a question of trustability and centralization to come to the minds of community members.
Rewriting the constitution
Due to the turmoil of stolen funds, Block One, the creators of EOSIO have proposed a constitutional change which goes against the EOS whitepaper. The whitepaper states Block Producers must make amendments which shall then be voted on with a 15 of 21 approval rating for changes to be made. On top of Block One going against the white paper, they have also taken it upon themselves to begin Block Producer voting. Block One owns 10 percent of EOS tokens, and voting does not work on a vote per person system but rather token per vote, this system gives Block One a significant advantage holding one-tenth of EOS in circulation. They have released a statement saying,”Block.one will soon begin allocating votes to block producers that share the core values necessary to maximize the integrity and potential of the EOS public blockchain network.” This could go to say they will vote for producers who share the same beliefs as them and their rewritten constitution. It is essential that every EOS token holder take this time to vote in a producer or producers who seek to create a safe and prosperous place for EOS to grow.
Personal opinionWe are the responsibility to vote to ensure the best Block Producers win and stay winning. Users should vote for a producer that adheres to their promises of ensuring proper governance of the EOS blockchain and focuses on bettering it for the community, always putting the EOS community first.
That's just my personal thoughts, I also hope that they will solve this problem perfectly. EOS is a great project, I am very much looking forward to the development of EOS
