Actually there is something that you are trying to transcend your own existence. My mind guides me when i want to go in a new direction or decide to do something new. One should give more attention to one's technique and talent to do everything. As we start any business with little knowledge and necessary money. We never want to think about what the future holds so you can call it the exclusive plan of your mind. In many cases we want to act on our own merits and buy and sell goods on our own merits between trades. Suppose you buy some apples for less money and sell them for twice as much. People are buying it from you because apples are more expensive then. Here you are using your advantage.

Have you ever tried to deceive yourself? Deceiving ourselves is always possible and I'm pretty sure most of us did it to ourselves. Do you consider yourself as traitor when you're not acting the right way for your own benefit?

The truth is most people are afraid to face reality and making some hard decisions, so they just do what they think will be easier knowing fully well that they are deceiving their self.
Most times we make hard choices for our own good but at times we just keep what is necessary aside, because of what is involved and do what will make us regret later.
I can't say I am a traitor to my self but sometimes I blame my self for taking wrong decisions.
Try and face the reality no matter what it may cost, thats life so stop deceiving your self.
Just as you said, it has already become a custom for some people to enjoy being a traitor to themselves and other by following or allowing what seems easy but actually the problem . Telling fat lies to get out of trouble and get others into trouble. When on the real sense they are just running in the helpless circles they create.

Personally, I had deceived myself with some decisions and indecisiveness which cause some kind had I know. The game changer is to tell oneself every simple truth, embrace it and see the joy it brings..
Funny enough, some don't even know when they are fatally undoing themselves, lying to yourself and not knowing it. I guess this is the worst self traitorship.

or at least i have when things do not go the way i want them to we need to cope somehow so i just try to convince myself that it is what i wanted in the first place and that it is for the better just so i don’t crumble from misery every single day

humans are weird in a sense that sometimes we know what we are doing is harmful but we still do it anyways because it is what we want to do and we are greedy and selfish even from our own benefit

Well yeah since we benefit in what we are doing sometimes we tolerate things and that is some kind of cheating and could be some sort of hipocrisy within us but as long as we tried to make things right I think in the long run it will be balanced.
