To elaborate on this a bit, before Jokes was a mod of various sections, and now as global mod he is a "site-wide" mod (so can moderate the entire forum). Technically speaking, this is the only notable change to being promoted to global mod. There are other permissions that have been granted, mainly to do with punishing users (giving strikes and such), though these aren't exclusively global mod permissions either, and they had access to some prior to promotion anyway.

Just because Jokers is now a global moderator does not mean that he is under the supervision of other global moderators or the administrator. Jokers (like the other moderators) knows what he is doing and in case anyone has doubts about how to act in a certain situation, we all try to reach a conclusion. We all try to follow the rules, maintaining some flexibility and personal judgment.

No, neither Jokers nor the other moderators receive payment. We receive a bonus in the distribution of forum tokens and sometimes to the best moderator, that is something the administrator decides.

Thanks for the correction, actually, I misunderstood here, as dragon said he is not going to moderate other moderators but the VP and admin will. I meant President/VP/admin are responsible for monitoring mods, I didn't mean global mods to clarify. As freemind put it the only reason global mods are in the position they are in is because they no longer require supervision.

Yeah now I understand. Thanks again for the clarification. It's a big responsibility, though I mean no supervision that's like he is free haha. In the real world, giving such power to a political leader will do bad things to the economy not saying he is bad, just to clarify just sharing my thoughts.

Global mods are also able to all keep an eye on each other through mod logs, even if president/admin hold that responsibility to make sure there aren't issues. We all make mistakes and all it takes is a pm from another global mod to resolve simple issues, without needing interference from anyone with "more" power. We've otherwise never voted in a bad global mod, simply because it's always been based on their moderating ability being at a high enough standard already.

We also often work together to resolve issues, there's a lot behind the scenes that users don't see basically. It might give the impression that global mods all work independently from each other and without any supervision or oversight, but that's far from how it really works, even if GMs often work in their own ways and in different areas of the forum.

So basically, you guys are working as a team and helping each other out with each other's mistakes and problems. That's the kindest thing, I mean, you are teaming up to make this forum more moderated and regulated. Jokers moderator is 💯% active. If you report a Post in his jurisdiction. When 24hours, your report has be activated. I really love those active moderators in the forum. There is a board that I have made reports but the moderator is not active as before again. So things are not deleted it should be. Freemind is an another active user in the forum that responding to reports very fast. And admin is the fast. Whenever they come online and see any report, they would key into action. Hey!!! Jokers sorry it is coming late. Congratulations.

Congrats to Jokers on becoming our latest global moderator!

Having joined the forum in 2018, Jokers became our fifth Mythical member of the forum in March 2020, won the Best Moderator Award in 2023, and has been a moderator of various sections for as long as anyone can remember. As an integral member of the moderating team, they have worked closely with Presidents and admin in moderating the forum; in particular against spammers and AI bots, as well as multi-accounts. Voted on by other global mods and approved by our President, Jokers has become the latest appointment to our GM team since 2021.

Let me use this medium to congratulate @Jokers for the successful winning over the race, truly his commitment and years of exposures to the forum tells from these and were all accounted for, this is not about being the most perfect candidate, but time and chance brought about the grace over him to be elected, others that have participated in the same contest also deserve it and more, but i wish there could be more opening later in future where they could best fit in better.
