Make 80% of your diet vegetables and vitamin A, you should also use a proper lighting environment when watching TV or using your phone/PC. Wear sunglasses during the day time. I think you will get the best thing to do if you visit an optician, I am only saying those ones I mentioned on my own.
If you have existing eye conditions it is hard to cure with just by improving your diet and taking the vitamins essential for your eyes but it helps you to prevent it developing these health conditions especially diabetes.

At age 40+, I started having problem reading text on mobile phone and books. Other than getting a pair of glasses, is there any effective exercise to improve the eye sight condition?
i don’t fully believe some eye exercises actually work so it’s better to instead let yourself learn some habits that can prevent the worsening of your vision for example taking breaks from looking at your screens and limiting the amount of hours you are facing a device

make sure to also incorporate nutritious food that can be good for your eyes like leafy vegetables or citrus fruits as advised of your doctor take in your vitamin supplements regularly as well

In my experience, exercises like focusing on near and distant objects and practicing the 20-20-20 rule helped reduce eye strain. Additionally, maintaining good lighting and taking breaks from screens made a noticeable difference.

3. Focus Change: Hold a pen or finger close to your nose and slowly move it away while keeping it in focus. Then, shift your focus to something farther away.
4. Eye Rolling: Slowly roll your eyes in circles, first clockwise and then counterclockwise.

There is also a possible relationship between alcohol and eye problems. If you are and have been a long-term consumer of alcohol in heavy quantities, you may want to start to reconsider that because it can actually contribute to eye problems.

There's no exercise that one can actually do to keep the eye effective as it beyond your control but on your part you can only take responsibility for your general health and well-being which will impact on the quality of your vision when you're getting old, practice such as dirt can have a great influence on individual vision, people who eats more of vegetables and fruits are more likely to have a good and functional eye sight as these vegetables and fruits contain vitamin which is needed for a good eye sight when ageing
