Yes, you raised a good point, this is just a exhibition match so it's unlikely that Ryan is pushing himself in training and then get injured. That's why it's suspicious to most boxing fans.

We have our own speculation, but maybe some of it might be true specially that Ryan didn't ask his promoters for this fight and so he will be in a lot of trouble if he pushes this.

On the other hand, money is money. I think that his promotor wont mind if Garcia flies somewhere, beats a non-boxer in exhibition match and goes home with $. Garcia dont have to push himself hard for exhibition fight, and chance of getting a serious injury isnt high. So I think it would be an easy money for him. What true reason behind that «injury» might be is that Garcia has «special health injury». I’ve read somewhere that he was doing drugs, and it is something weird with his mind.
