first of all our discussion here would not be the deciding factor in say a senate hearing all this discussion will not be considered by the government but it still is a good discussion to have

second in my opinion it is not about the activity itself but the individual i know many people who managed to avoid having ruined lives through gambling and instead treating gambling as just like any hobby done for entertainment and sometimes for profit the best a government can do is probably to set protection for gamblers but i do not think it is necessary for it to be banned

Its hard to do that because its an industry where the government is making money from issuing licenses and taxes, and these casinos are employing people, so they too are going to lose if they stop their operations. The government sustains their existence through taxes, and they need this industry. I'm not saying that its beneficial or harmful, but there's a pro and cons to allowing their operations and the government will always think of their interests.

Where do we live? Every country has different rules about gambling and even in Europe gambling is considered legal.

Like my own country gambling is illegal and the government eradicates all those caught gambling in any form.

So I make gambling as entertainment this also does not become public meaning playing always in secret not other people know.

Our government have helped the people who needs emergency assistance to people with their hospital bills.

I'm not sure what other governments do but part of heir funds are from the taxes they get from casinos so this should help their government to help people. Thus there is reason for them to keep the gambling industry rolling.

If a government does not legalize gambling, will the general public of that country not gamble? If they do gamble elsewhere due to government prohibitions, which I think is completely futile. When gambling has become an industry worldwide, if governments take the initiative to close it again after legalizing it, it will also be futile because a large part of them depends on it. If the government closes that platforms, who will take the responsibility of employment for that population? In the case of countries that have not legalized gambling from the beginning, the policy that the government will adopt is acceptable, but once this industry has arisen in any country, it is not possible to stop it in any way.

The fact of the matter is that gambling can't be stopped as it's not forced on people so any one engaging in gambling is doing so willingly gambling has both negative and positive influence on the life's of people so we can't because of the negative aspects of gambling to stop it in our society
One thing you need to take note of is that government can't stop gambling in any liberal state because before any gambling company is set up it will pass through some registration and regulatory process which will make it legal and most importantly these gambling companies are registered as business so they pay their taxes there by contributing to the countries development

I understand that it will sound absurd, but since people mostly complain on gambling due to losing everything, why not make gamblers sign a document that they understand all consequences before they register and start gambling. Gamblers should take full responsibility for their excess gambling. People should stop replacing responsibility for their greed on gambling platforms. Ready to lose everything - gamble freely. Not ready for such consequences - leave. Simple but effective. Otherwise, if gambling becomes banned because someone went bankrupt, those people will offer to ban something else where they fail or lose money. Why not offer to ban any form of investment then? Because people lose money there too.
