As a trader how much profitable has restaking been ?

Didn't know about Solana restacking until recently really. I still don't know much about solayer but this seems like a good one for Solana users, their TVL is up already and since layer went live.. it's price trend seemed decent too

I have never participated in Restaking, neither on Ethereum nor Solana. I only know that some Restaking projects have come to the Solana ecosystem and could potentially boost the DeFi trend in this cycle.

Some well-known projects related to restaking are Jito, Cambrian, Solayer, and Picasso. An APY of over 7% is indeed attractive to many SOL holders, but it's strange that we haven't seen an explosion of LRD on Solana. Perhaps the memecoin trend has captured investors attention and caused DeFi on Solana to not be as successful as expected. I hope that in Q2, DeFi will return to lead the entire crypto market into a bullrun and SOL will become famous again in the altseason.

To be honest, I've only done stake or reStake to farm some airdrops right now, the profits is better than only staking
And the most recent one was Solayer's where I got some $Layer tokens

I don’t fully understand what you mean but if what you mean is; will rewards for long term stakers be the for short termers. Well, the answer is no, rewards for long term stakes can’t affect short term.

Most people prefer to go for staking instead of trading because of the fact that it is easier and less risky since the only thing you have to deal with is a general price movement of solana that is if you are taking solana. Staking is more like Hodling while also getting returns over a fixed period.

On the other hand however trading packs way more profits just as it is accompanied by a larger risk margin too. If you still don't want to manage a huge risk for too long you could also opt in to stake for a short period of time.

Which network problem are you talking about?


0.3 SOL in my opinion is not worth doing the reStake, since in 1 year you would gain 0.021 SOL (7% year)
Equivalent to 3 dollars today

You could earn more by trying a trade than by reStake

To start with, Is staking a trading term or a hodling term? I'm basically asking because you mentioned it like it is a trading term. Staking is basically more like locking your funds or rather coins away for a precalculated period of time.
Different networks make use of different protocols and the two common ones are the proof of stake and the proof of work mechanisms.

Confusion is pretty common in this market. He probably meant the profits from investing or participating in restaking trends, and getting returns from holding or trading those trend tokens.

We were waiting for the DeFi trend to hit Solana after it blew up on Ethereum, but maybe liquid staking and restaking aren't bringing in those huge profits for investors like they did when they first came out. I'm waiting to see what big trend picks Solana after the memecoins trend in this bullrun.
