Is Vine making a comeback as a web3 company?
« on: January 25, 2025, 09:20:45 AM »
Vine was a very popular platform back in the day. It was the hub for all sorts of funny videos and basically kind of what Tiktok is right now. Around 2017, they did shut down, but people never really forgot about them

I don't know if you saw it, but recently, Elon Musk said they are looking to bring back Vine this year. Now VINE have actually released a meme coin, which is interesting. Seems the company might want to make a comeback via the web3 route. There has actually been a lot of talk about the price on twitter, many people are very bullish on the token atm. Let's see how it plays out

I have seen many videos of Vine, I did not used vine directly but on YouTube people used to make a collection of videos picked up from Vine and I also used to watch those videos back in 2019 or 2020 maybe, I don't think the app is available in my region have to check.

But if they are planning to bring that app back then the chances of banning Tiktok are higher, if it is'nt already banned, as I am not following the news last I knew it was going to be banned so.

They have a meme token now; maybe it would pump more once the adoption of the token is higher, but I have observed one thing, and that is a place where people want to spend their time and consume content on those sites they don't want to make money, really but users who are producing content on such sites they want to make money so they are the ones care for the meme coin of that project, not the consumer.

Now VINE have actually released a meme coin, which is interesting.

People never learn!
Everyone right now is just asking to get scammed in a pump and dump or rugpull.
I wonder what next but I guess don't have the same imagination and audacity as these guys have when it comes to cash grabs.

What you said was right,  but not entirely true. The crypto space is actually full of pump and dump schemes, but you as a trader or investor must always have a better strategy to approach new projects with caution. Talking about Vine, it was actually amonng the projects i saw 'B G Seed' predicted to be the next gem amd that gives peace because of the authentication of that. You should check it on the picture below. Happy Sunday!

You really had a good point on the difference between content creators and consumers when it reaches to talk about meme coins.
Also, regarding the meme coin, you're right that increased adoption could lead to a pump in value, think about $TRUMP when it was first listed then. But the truth is in anything we do DYOR is important, also there are good exchange platform that create opportunities for potentials projects, when you are free we can talk about it.

it would have been a lot better if they stuck with having their app like you said no one really forgot about them because it was such a huge part of our culture and it gave way to people to express their imagination and creativity before tiktok there was vine and seeing how much tiktok has grown we can definitely say how important vine has been to the internet scene

if they decide to release a token or a coin, maybe people would be into it but if their app was still running they would have attracted more attention now

I've never heard of them before. What makes you think their predictions will come true? You know there are tons of "experts" quoted on the media who say A or B and then say the opposite a few months later. All of them hide behind the disclaimer that they're sharing predictions yet the changes are so big and contradictory sometimes. I can't trust people like them when they say Bitcoin is dead this week tand hen say you should buy and hold Bitcoin for 2 years next week.

I also think that a token is unnecessary, it might even limit their audience considering how people views meme token or crypto in general.
