This is an old thread therefore not sure about the necessity to make a post or even if would have any meaning but regarding 2017, I would state that it brought back memories of the ICO scene where scammers made millions of USD$ for selling nothing other than intricate scams dressed as viable investments.
Well, sir, the first thing is that I don't see the topic as too old, as it is still debatable. You criticized the year 2017, yes, it was the wildest year for scammers, where every second project came out as a scam, and some of those scammers are still active, reusing that thing with different names. At that time, the ICO proved that when greed controls your mind, critical thinking shuts down. People were really scammed by the spread of FOMO.
