right now Ripple is number 3 position in coinsmarketcap. I think in 2018 it has a great future.

I don't see  it. Maybe $4 at the end of the year but I have big problems with ripple. First there are many tokens, which means that the price for single token will remain low and this have to be expected because low price on ripple mean lower transaction fees in their system.  The second and biggest issue that I have with the coin is that 60% of the tokens are in hands of the developers, ceos and managers of the ripple project. With 60% of the total supply in them, they can easily manipulate the price and in principle ripple simply is not a crypto currency and the whole idea behind the tokens is for the banks to maintain control.

The answer is no. Ripple will not surpass Bitcoin in the near future. And I have to tell you, that Ripple currently occupies third place in the coin market, not ranked 2. If you say 2nd place in the altcoin, I will say you are right.
