I think it's very profitable for Altcoin. Because it can be independent and its market conditions do not affect Bitcoin anymore. On the other hand Bitcoin users will automatically play in Altcoin and boost the price of Altcoin to be higher or even skyrocket.

Bitcoin has the power to send all Altcoins into pit by letting itself go on the same direction. But there will surely an altcoins that can survive or another altcoins that will born and take over the place of bitcoin.

They has the same purpose, but by different system
If one day bitcoin fade, that will not bring effect to another altcoin but if that happen, there will be big price deduction to the altcoin but altcoin still exists.
The thing to be a problem is if blockchain technology lost then all will be lost, but in my opinion that will not happen because this technology can attract internet peoples to join.
So bitcoin will not ever lost because bitcoin called as the king of all coin
