Everyone is free to share opinions on certain matters but I think Vitalik should just focus on improving ethereum. He maybe the founder of one of the most popular blockchain platforms but he does not own blockchain technology.

Vitalik should not forget that owning two or three altcoins doesn't mean owning the all blockchain. As far as I know bitcoin is still the only one that can turn the market to on fire or off fire.

It is just his own opinion. I don't know why he stated it but I think we shouldn't be afraid with that comment. Blockchain is like a booster for cryptocurrency.  It gives instant impacts for the improvement of crypto and for sure to other fields that utilize the technology.
