When the USA discarded the gold standard that started the history of just printing the paper money anytime they wanted at their convenience. Now, the big reason why run-away inflation has not yet been triggered in the country is because it remains to be the global money for commerce. Once this role is restricted or once another money is taking the lead that can be the time the country and its people will realize the mistake made in the past. For now, everybody is enjoying the windfall.
