Do Airdrops build real communities or ephemeral ones ?

What can unite people? Interest, financial attractiveness. While people will see the benefits from the project, they will be there, as soon as it is not profitable, they will leave. The majority of people will do this.

It is now a common practice to airdrop some tokens to get people to join telegram and twitter etc ...
Is it building a real community ?
Are these people that already join hundreds of other projects really interested in the project ?
Or they would dumb it in the nearest opportunity ?
a big number would even unfollow and leave channel after getting the tokens ....

Well airdrops create interests and attract people to at least look at the projects.  It is indeed a stepping stone to create a community.  Wether it will produce a solid community or not depends on the admin/developer of the project.  A person will stick to something when it sees potential and a possible good result for them.  So I think airdrop is still useful but on how to utilize it to the fullest depends to the one running the airdrop.

I do not know whether this is good or not because I have just jumped into a world like this and I will learn for a better future. I find it hard to get build genuine comunities We'll see the next few days or months. This is very nice

To all those who think airdrops don't build a real community, well, I beg to differ, I sincerely think airdrops does build a real community, but the thing is it all depends on how the airdrop campaign was or is been organized, there are way to turn airdrop participants to investors as well as future users of whatever product you are building, airdrop if run in a proper way have alot of advantages and brings a lot of good results to the project, but if run in a wrong way, it's does end of bad for the project and the investors always suffer.

Airdrops are part of the bounty campaign, hunters with little time will enjoy airdrops.
Advantages of airdrop:
+ Helping the project reach a large number of users and wallets;
+ Help the project to have a beautiful profile (the number of people following Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Telegram accounts) in a quick time, attracting potential investors;
+ Help the project take advantage of more hunters;
+ Easy to conduct, low cost.

Disadvantages of airdrop:
+ Not many loyal fans. Hunters who have pursued bounty for a few months often love the project
+ The token value that hunter receives is very low;
+ Easy to be abused: many people have hundreds of emails & Telegram accounts to participate in the airdrop as a main profession. They can earn $100-200 USD in a successful airdrop campaign.

Currently, I don't have much confidence in airdrops, even I don't want to waste time with airdrops.
