One key reason is because of the EU Parliament’s decision to “ban” cold wallets within the EU. It causes Bitcoin to drop to $45K as the project resistance was rejected. Their decision to do that is to likely “kill” DeFi and remove the purpose of decentralization because they are always finding ways to “control” our funds rather than moving it “freely”.

Although that they cannot stop cold wallets from sending crypto to the other, they are requiring exchanges to disclose the user’s non-custodial wallet. Not just hardware wallets though, but hot wallets like Metamask, Trust Wallet, IMToken, etc., that we control the private keys or seed phrases.
