Nigeria needs a ministry of poverty aliviation

The same people are the ones killing the naira value because virtually all they use are imported, they do not use locally made products but foreign. Now tell me who do you think causes the naira value to depreciate more? Do the poor and average citizens have the capacity to import things just like the high and mighty?

Being optimistic isn't a bad thing however at this stage of the economy it isn't going to help matters at all what will need is actually a proper government setting that will boost the economy and nothing more. Its a big shame that's that the Naira against other currencies like euro and USD is nothing to write home about frankly speaking it's not available for trading like I said earlier and the only places you can view it is something like tradingview if you are familiar with it.

And there you have it importation!! another huge problem that the economy is facing we literally import every single thing and pay unnecessary tariff and costs which makes no sense.

We have long been hearing about a government that would boost our economy and still yet any government that comes into power does worse than its predecessor. As it stands now no nation is looking at naira anymore as the naira value has faded away coupled with the lackadaisical approach of our leaders to economic situation of our country.

Well the Idea of a poverty aliviation ministry , set up or committee isn't something I really fancy because from an angle, it's probably some other way for funds to be looted through the loop hole of helping the said masses and in the end everything ends up being faked via useless documentation and boom they get a net amount spent at x...... Only for them to actually spend far less even up to just x/10 only.

It's high time these schemes were shunned and the concept of things like this fade away. If the economy is actually being improved and fixed that will definitely fix the poverty rate too.

From the onset, I never liked the idea of a poverty alleviation program because that is always a conduit for embezzlement as our leaders and politicians are fond of doing such. All the past poverty programmes initiated how far about them? how did they go about the funds involved?  You see all these stuffs are mostly what they use to settle themselves and not even a dime is given to the real people that are meant to receive them. I doubt that if they still establish such a ministry, it would function as it is supposed to without the politicians interfering with the process to embezzle from it.

Introducing another ministry would be like introducing another problem, because he will also be planning on how to stabilize his own financial situation. I don't think we still have a saint or virtuous in this world again, and even if there is, they will be difficult to find. Any ministry that they introduce now to alleviate poverty in Nigeria will have nothing to do about it. Rather he will still follow the orders of the people that are in power before him, and if he refuses or fail to do so, and didn't cooperate with them, they will do what they has to do to bring him down. Nigerians are really facing a lot of problems, difficulties, instability, and challenges. Nothing is surprising anymore in Nigeria. After all, appointments in Nigeria are made to satisfy loyalists. When the government appoints loyalists to head ministries, they do not want them to work because the appointment serves as a settlement, which is why selfless and visionary individuals are not appointed because they are not part of the government's cabal.

This is why the government rarely pursues politicians who have siphoned money, knowing that the appointment was made so that those politicians could amass wealth. If the government can change the way appointments are made, we will have better people in leadership positions.

That is basically the point. The country doesn't need a poverty elevation team like the title of this thread actually suggests does basically because the steps or rather actions that such a team will take will just be of temporary effects and that isn't what would solve the big problem.

The economy of the country needs to be generally touched and remanaged properly else a poverty elevation team would just be almost useless since the social amenity shared will fade of in no time.

There are experts who have suggested ways to manage our economy in order to bring development to the country, but those measures are not being implemented by the government because the government is always only concerned with their personal advancement, and revamping the economy will not benefit them as individuals, so it is of no interest to them.

The worst part is that most people appointed as ministers of the Federal Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning have no knowledge of economic planning, which is why we have yet to see meaningful economic development in Nigeria.

The whole thing is already messed up however what's the country actually needs now is more of action rather than suggestions and open speeches. Basically suggestions don't fix the problems rather they give possible ways of fixing them and also creates the sense of awareness of all the flaws that need to be fixed.

At the current state of the economy it's not so new a problem that people would need to the made properly aware of. The more talks are done the more degradation continues.

There is no need to create another Ministry when we already have so many that are dysfunctional. Creating more will cost the country. If all ministries function properly, poverty in the country will be drastically reduced; however, because the president continues to negotiate the Ministry with his political friends and associates, the poverty rate will continue to rise because they are only in the Ministry to loot funds and not to work for the benefit of the common people.

Nigeria already has numerous poverty alleviation projects, ranging from the presidential poverty alleviation program to government agencies, but poverty continues to rise in the country. Most of the initiatives are scams; they take money from people for registration and then defraud them of their hard-earned money. While some, those who are given the responsibility to organise misused funds intended for the public. It's ridiculous that such people are in charge of our country. Instead of developing new ministries to alleviate poverty, the government should focus on improving the existing ones.

Creating a ministry of poverty aliviation is good but one thing to note is that creating this ministry may involve extra expensive, and as we all know most ministries we have in the country today are not functional, they are just there looking for ways to corner to their pocket public funds, most ministries worker just come to work and sit in offices all day and at the end of it they receive they payment and even other extra allowance they might have stolen from the government. Actually this doesn't surprise me because most workers in the ministry were selected and appointed by those supposed corrupt leaders of our.
