The United States has introduced a type of cryptocurrency wallet in the form of a subcutaneous implant. The smartphone acts as the interface, but the assets physically remain in the body, as the private key and the actual signing of the transaction are performed by the chip.

The chip, being developed by Dangerous Things and VivoKey Technologies, utilizes NFC and RFID technology. The device is priced at $349.

If it is true, I do not need a wallet like that. I am good with a wallet that can be at my home if it is a hardware wallet while small amount of coins can be on my mobile wallet for frequent transactions.

In security and easy of accessing coins, we have all we need already than what could cause physical harm if attacked.

It's been on the market for 3 years already, they launched the apex in 2021.

Even if they have been doing implants for more than decades, is it worth buying?

There are different ways to use cryptocurrency wallets which will not require an implant. The security of my coins is based on it being offline and or being multisig and not because of any implant.

What do you think is the advantage this has over wallets that are not implants?

If I go for something like this, definitely I am sleeping because it would only be in a dream.

Depends on your needs and lifestyle!

If you use coins daily it would act like a second layer of security, so if you don't have just your phone and wallet you have the keys separated from that and harder for malware to empty your account, plus you don't have to care if you lose or someone gets your phone. It's a back-up you can't really lose!

Basically, it's better for a hot wallet solution, not a cold one.

And on top of that, they also pay for beer - which means that you can drink as much as you want without fear of losing your wallet, and if you install a second implant with which you can also unlock the front door of your home, then you don't even have to worry about the keys

Not too thrilled about the card in my hand but the things about the door would be interesting, if only we wouldn't have a better solution already with less hassle, and that's fingerprint, it cost 100euros and it's perfect, you can store the fingerprints, you can block them temporarily and you don't need everyone in the family to carry an implant.
I don't care if the kid will lose his keys, if someone grabs them and follows him home, and it's way more manageable.

I think implants will become rally useful when you could update the data in them easily and securly.

If you look at this other video that was published 5 years ago and that a person can already do some things in terms of adjusting what an implant can do, it seems to me that today's technology has already advanced to allow them to be adjusted and the data on them to be very easy to upgrade.

However, on the other hand, most people do not find it acceptable (or pleasant) to have something under their skin, and I personally think that I would feel such an implant and that it would bother me.

I'm more in favor of a combination of an iris scan with a possible fingerprint and an additional code - but that's not something you can easily enter your house/apartment with if you've had a few too many beers or if you have a dangerous wife who will perhaps install some surprises in addition to all that

Also not a fan of this. I don't know, even if some research finds these devices to be foolproof from any hack or malfunction, I don't think I'll ever feel comfortable having electronics in my body. Maybe it's a bit of paranoia, but I'd rather take some inconvenience instead of doing this. Eh well, it's a niche market to begin with but who knows what will happen in the future. CMIIW.

That is just it. There are many hardware wallets and wallets generally that are available that do not need to be implanted into human body. They are wallets that have years of good reputation and they are still having good reputation till now. If those are existing, how can I like this kind of wallet that I can never use. It is good to stay away from this kind of wallet.
