Tether announced new stablecoin that is backed by Tether Gold another of their token.
Alloy is Tethered Asset that is using Tether Gold as collateral to provide stability and value for Alloy by Tether.
There is also aUSD₮, that is the first Alloy by Tether token that you can mint or return yourself.

This is a bit confusing to me, but what do you think about this new stablecoin?
I am generally not interested in trying out new stablecoins in the market because I do not fully understand their potential and risks, and the current stablecoins have served my investment needs very well. I have no reason to give up USDT and USDC to own or use another stablecoin that I do not understand well.
Perhaps aUSDT is created to serve a few professional investors or large funds, it is very difficult to reach retail investors and achieve success like USDT. I even doubt Tether's real purpose in deploying this new stablecoin.
