Those are valid points. Although LN is created to make micropayment quickly and cheap rather than sending huge transaction. And in practice, it's more suitable if you frequently send/receive payment with other same party. Sidechain is probably better option if you want to make huge transaction, although lack of adaption makes it less practical.
But who is going to send payments to you when you are sending so much?
That's the heart of the problem. As people have no reason to send payments to you if you are not offering some kind of service or fundraiser.
I think that's the main reason why Lightning hasn't fully taken off yet, because most people are consumers, and this kind of configuration really only helps producers.
