The Russian president has not excluded the possibility that, at some point, crypto will become a “means of accumulation.” Russian President Vladimir Putin believes that it’s “still premature” to use cryptocurrencies for settling trades of energy resources such as oil.

The Russian president discussed potential use cases of cryptocurrencies in a Thursday CNBC interview following a plenary session of the Russian Energy Week forum.

According to a full interview text published on the Kremlin’s official website, Putin said that private cryptocurrencies “can act as a unit of account,” but they are “very unstable.”

In Russia, the Putin regime has always had a negative attitude towards cryptocurrency, which gives people relative freedom. At the same time, Putin, as always, is very evasive and ambiguous about it, and therefore the laws adopted in relation to digital assets in Russia are among the worst in the world.
After Russia's full-scale military invasion of Ukraine and the imposition of harsh international sanctions against the aggressor country, the Russians should no longer hope that the cryptocurrency will be freely circulated in this country. They are taking all measures so that the capital does not leave Russia.

It's better not to talk about Russians innovations. It's better to look at USA and China countries.
Many countries still do not accept crypto currency legally so they lag behind in terms of digital assets. Crypto in my country is not fully legal but everyone works in crypto from secret. My country government has talked about crypto many times and researched all its pros and cons. However they have always avoided the issue by keeping it in future plans. I think crypto plays a big role in eliminating unemployment in the country. We don't want to fight them directly because they will legalize crypto through future planning.

its like the governments conspire to not talk about crypto on TV to keep regular people from it. they don't want people to have interest in investing about crypto and accumulate assets. but even the stock or the forex market, the mainstream media is not discussing all these to the public. they have to make a certain channel for it that only the rich old men who subscribed can watch.
they continue doing this, the people in the country are going to remain poor.

they always want people to be poor though. otherwise there will be a lot of oligarchs they can't afford to pin.

He is correct but I can see that Bitcoin can really be used in oil trading for them given that few countries like Russia was affected by sanctions and Bitcoin is a way to evade such restrictions and no doubt these countries I assume along with North Korea was already using cryptocurrency as a mode of payment for oil without us knowing for some years though this is just my speculation but who knows right? As we all know that countries who love to play with propagandas are for me has no consistency when it comes to relaying public informations due to privacy issues or they just don't want their enemies take further actions against their moves.

But i have seen gambling advertisements while watching cricket matches which are aired on state run TV. Since gambling is banned in almost all countries, if you see such advertising there, you will get bad comments about the government of your country. However i think crypto has many positives so the government should look into this. Taking it to a proper level and legalizing crypto so that people can earn money online.

Honestly, I have never heard of any negative policies from Russia towards crypto. What I have seen in other forums, Russian users are very active in discussing freely. I did hear rumors of a ban a few months ago, but today (thanks to this thread), it seems that everything has been refuted including your assumption that Russia is against crypto. Check these out:

For me Cryptocurrency will be sanctioned countries new friend in the future or even today we just don't have any idea about them using crypto for trading oil as we all know politics has this secrecy on the highest level where we sometimes cannot anticipate their next move. I also here or read topics before maybe on the other forum wherein high ranking Russian officials has Bitcoin holdings and maybe they are all good with crypto there in their country without issues.
